Truth in broadcasting will be a nice alternative. Politicians are allowed by something resembling law created by the FCC which is not supposed to make laws to run blatantly dishonest campaign advertising over the public air waves.
If we were a country of laws this would not be allowed and the perpetrator would be punished.
Lying is permitted in all media. The alternative is to punish lying and liars. If there was an uprising of the peasants when they did what angry peasants once did the lying impressive of humanity will be terrorist by the peasant class.

Freedom of speech is one of the great things achieved in the West, and such concept actually terrifies tyrants and dictators, so we should celebrate freedom of speech and welcome even its shortcomings. The only peaceful Solution that I can think of would be to require that the people who are supposed to serve us be held to very high standards which would mean they would have to sign a written contract. If they sign that contract then it is we the people who judge them And punish them when they try to screw us over.

We can complain about this, or we can do something about it. The question is,, what can the people do about this fascist country of ours. Government is instituted for the protection, security & benefit of the people and they have the right, at all times, to alter, or reform the same, whenever the good may require it."

My husband is a naturalized citizen since 2008. We are very very worried. What should we be doing preemptively to make our life more secure?
