Here’s the thing … crude prices go up 20%, and gas prices are raised 20%. But crude is only one component of the cost of gas. There is transporting it, refining it, storing it, labor, facilities and taxes, employee benefits, insurance, advertising, etc. ALL of those factors are also raised 20% even tho most are completely unchanged.
The oil companies figured out this trick during the 70’s oil crises and they’ve never looked back!
