Adam Schiff Challenging Katie Porter for Dianne Feinstein's Senate Seat
Congressman Adam Schiff has announced that he is getting involved in the race to become California’s next U.S. Senator. Incumbent Dianne Feinstein has been in the Senate for thirty years, but has not yet announced if she will be running again in 2024. It’s expected by many that due to Feinstein’s age, she may be pressured out of running again. This has opened the door for Congresswoman Katie Porter to announce a campaign of her own and now Schiff is getting involved as well. Schiff is best known for investigating Donald Trump in numerous capacities and both he and Porter have become well-known left-wing figures in recent years. It remains to be seen whether other Democrats will get in the race, but the early announcements by Porter and Schiff are likely intended to discourage other potential competitors from getting in the race.
OOPS: George Santos Admits to Possible Crime
Disgraced Congressman George Santos may have violated campaign finance laws by accepting a $500,000 personal loan for his campaign that wasn't actually his own money. The filings for his campaign finances also revealed that a separate $125,000 loan from Santos in October is no longer listed as coming from his personal funds. These add to a list of questionable financial disclosures by Santos and raise questions about whether the now-Congressman violated campaign finance laws. Republicans have been hoping the controversies surrounding Santos would go away since they don’t want to lose a House seat with the razor-thin majority they have. However, there is speculation that this could be the last straw for Santos and that it could lead to even more serious consequences for him, perhaps all the way up to having to face criminal charges.
From yesterday’s show:
Ted Cruz is a Disgusting Human Being
The recent news that former Vice President Mike Pence had classified documents at his home in Indiana is leading to blatantly hypocritical reactions from Republicans, including Texas Senator Ted Cruz. Cruz appeared on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow, and during the interview, he called for the FBI to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden in relation to classified documents, but disregarded the fact that Pence also had classified documents at his home. Instead, he said about Pence, “oh look, the Mike Pence story, it's still early. You know, Mike Pence and as you noted, he is a good friend. He's a good man. He's explained where these came from. What his office has put out is that in packing up the vice presidential offices, that there were a couple of papers that were classified.” Republicans are so dishonest that they’re willing to give Trump and Pence a pass on this issue, but think the Biden story is worthy of round-the-clock media coverage.
From yesterday’s show:
Marjorie Taylor Greene is Trying to Be Trump's VP
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is clearly trying to become Donald Trump’s choice for a vice presidential candidate in 2024. The latest is that Steve Bannon, a former Trump aide, has stated that Greene sees herself on the shortlist for the position, and anonymous sources have also confirmed that her goal is to become Trump’s VP choice. Greene has recently attempted to rebrand herself as a sensible politician who can bridge the divide between the Republican Party’s establishment and MAGA wings. However, it’s going to be challenging to whitewash her history of spreading conspiracy theories and other outrageous antics. It would probably be a bad choice strategically for Trump to pick Greene, but as we saw from the 2016 election, people who have no business serving in high office can still find a way to get there.
