Trump Interview Quickly Goes Bad, Host Can't Save Him
Donald Trump did an over-the-phone interview with conspiratorial filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, and despite the big political issues of the day, they mostly talked about the 2020 election. Trump said, “they voted six, seven, eight times, you know as much as they could in the local areas. Some of the people went back, I guess, they said twenty-eight times in one day.” D’Souza nodded along despite there being absolutely zero evidence for this claim and it being an obvious lie. Next, Trump claimed that his own attorney general, Bill Barr, covered up the election fraud because of the fear he had of Democrats. Trump said, “Bill Barr was afraid of being impeached. He was petrified of being impeached.” This claim also makes no sense on its face, since Barr had only a few weeks left in his term at the time. Trump’s interviews are increasingly happening on fringe shows aired on fringe networks and it’s because the former president remains completely obsessed with an event that happened two years ago.
Unhinged Lindsey Graham EXPLODES on Herschel Walker
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is backing Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker following reports that a second woman claims Walker paid for her to get an abortion. Graham sat next to Walker for an interview on Fox News and he did his “I’m angry” routine that we see from time to time. The South Carolina Republican said, “they’re scared to death of Herschel Walker because if Herschel Walker becomes a Republican, maybe every other young child in America of color might want to become a Republican.” Lindsey continued with his faux indignation, saying, “what happens when the Republican Party elects and nominates Herschel Walker, an African American black Heisman trophy winner, right? Olympian. It destroys the whole narrative.” With two weeks to go before Election Day, Graham is pulling out all the stops for Walker and is doing his best to dismiss the abortion story as fake news.
From yesterday’s show:
More Republicans Say Trump WON'T BE 2024 Candidate
More and more Republicans are saying that Donald Trump is not going to be their presidential nominee in 2024. We already knew about former Vice President Mike Pence turning on Trump and not committing to backing him, saying “there might be somebody else I’d prefer more.” Now, former House Speaker Paul Ryan has chimed in, saying, “I think Trump’s unelectability will be palpable by then. We all know he will lose. Or let me put it this way: We all know he’s much more likely to lose the White House than anybody else running for president on our side of the aisle. So why would we want to go with that?” Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush weighed in and said by 2024, Republicans will want “a new generation of leadership in our country.” Trump could certainly still end up being the nominee but he may have a more difficult path to the nomination than he realizes.
From yesterday’s show:
Dems COLLAPSING Quickly as Red Wave Rising
With less than two weeks to go before Election Day, the polls are not heading in the right direction for Democrats. For example, the Florida Senate race is quickly getting out of reach for Democratic challenger Val Demings. Republican incumbent Marco Rubio is now up by an RCP average of 7.5% compared to just a few-point lead several weeks ago. In the Florida governor’s race, incumbent Republican Ron DeSantis is up by an average of eleven percent when last month it was conceivable that Democrat Charlie Crist could make that race competitive. In the Georgia governor’s race, Democrat Stacey Abrams was down only a couple of points over the summer to Republican incumbent Brian Kemp. Now, Kemp is up by an RCP average of 6.7%. This trend is happening all over the country and it couldn’t be occurring at a worse time for Democrats.
