Lindsey Graham Threatens Riots If Trump Indicted
South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is threatening riots if Donald Trump gets indicted. Some media outlets are reporting this as Graham merely predicting riots if Trump is charged, but the reality is that he’s actually threatening them since it’s his supporters who would be committing the violence and he did nothing to calm them down. Lindsey went on Fox News and said, “if there’s a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling misinformation after the Clinton debacle which you presided over and did a helluva good job, they’ll be riots in the streets.” This call by Lindsey is a long way away from the case right-wingers used to make, which is that conservatives don’t riot; ever since the events of January 6, 2021, that argument has been a lot tougher for them to make. Graham is trying to put a stop to the work of the Justice Department with this statement, which may very well be inching towards an indictment, while also planting the seed for Trumpists to take action if their hero is prosecuted.
Trump Resurfaces for Unhinged Interview, Completely Incoherent
Donald Trump appeared on “The Great America Show” hosted by former Fox Business host Lou Dobbs in what was a resurfacing for the former president who’s been mostly off the airwaves since the search of his Mar-a-Lago home earlier this month. Trump said that he was “essentially attacked,” and got “broken into,” completely leaving out that this was a judge-approved legal search warrant so everything about it was completely above board. Then Trump made the claim that if he was still president, the economy would be roaring, and gasoline would be $2 per gallon or less. This argument makes absolutely no sense, since every country in the world right now is dealing with inflation and high gas prices, and Trump would not magically be able to make the United States immune from that. Trump went on to claim that if he got a second term, America would be even more energy independent than it currently is and windmills wouldn’t be “destroying our beautiful open spaces, our plains, and our valleys.” Apparently, Trump wasn’t working on new material during his media hiatus, as this is exactly the type of thing he’s been talking about for years now.

Madison Cawthorn In Trouble For Campaign Finance Errors
Lame duck Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn is a month late filing his campaign fund disclosures and that might be due to a fraud scheme he was allegedly involved in. The campaign appears to be out of money, with insiders saying every time they raised a dollar they’d immediately spend it. Cawthorn spent thousands of dollars at Chick-Fil-A, thousands at cigar shops, $21,000 for lodging in Florida, $3,000 at “Papa’s Beer,” and hundreds of thousands more in consulting fees. But to make matters worse for Madison is that it appears he spent money intended for his general election campaign, which he could not lawfully do before winning his primary. Cawthorn lost his primary back in May so all of that general election fund money is supposed to be returned to the donors. That money may now be gone and that could explain why his campaign is a month late reporting its disclosures. This means the troubles for Madison may extend well beyond getting kicked out of office after just one term.

Tucker: People Who Can't Vote in Person Don't Deserve to Vote
Tucker Carlson made the case on his Fox News program that people who can’t show up to the polls to vote in person don’t deserve a right to vote at all. Carlson had Chuck Devore on his show to talk about the new division at the Postal Service dedicated to handling election mail. The two made the case that this cannot be trusted because the Post Office is too liberal and the mail-in voting process is too subject to fraud. That’s when Tucker said, “why is there any mail-in balloting? If you can’t be bothered to get to the polls, why do you have a right to participate in democracy? I don’t understand.” What Tucker neglects is that there are certain groups of people who sometimes have to vote by mail, including those in the military, Americans living overseas, the immunosuppressed, and the elderly. But the reason Carlson really doesn’t like vote by mail is that it encourages more people to vote, which makes it less likely that Republican candidates can win.

What kills me is that when Trump tried to shut down the postal service in order to prevent Democrats from receiving their mail-in ballots, he was an idiot because by doing so, the Republican voters would not be receiving their mail-in ballots either. And many (if not all) Republicans appreciate the convenience of voting by mail. For Tucker Carlson to say that anyone who doesn't vote in person shouldn't be allowed to vote at all is even crazier than Donald Trump, and that is saying a lot.
