Trump says he NEVER swore oath to defend the Constitution
In a controversial legal maneuver, Donald Trump's legal team contends that he is not barred from running for office in Colorado as he never explicitly swore to "support" the Constitution during his inauguration but instead pledged to "preserve, protect, and defend" it. This intricate semantic argument challenges the applicability of the insurrection clause in the 14th Amendment. Critics dismiss the distinction between "support" and the alternative phrases as a dangerous and pedantic technicality, emphasizing the absurdity of suggesting that inciting an insurrection is permissible under the guise of linguistic nuances. Skepticism looms over whether Trump supporters would accept such fine-grained distinctions. The broader concern is the precedent set by excusing actions based on linguistic interpretation and the potential risks if Trump were to secure another term unrestrained by electoral accountability.
Biden crime conspiracy implodes on Fox News in real time
The conspiracy theories surrounding Joe Biden are falling apart as there is no substantial evidence of criminal acts like bribery, nepotism, and extortion. One of the latest examples of Republicans failing on this is a Fox News interview where Congresswoman Lisa McClain failed to specify policies influenced by alleged bribes. Other Republican representatives also concede the current absence of evidence while expressing hope for its discovery in the future. There are parallels to be drawn to past unfounded claims about Trump's election and Democratic actions, hinting at a recurring pattern of baseless accusations. Despite a professed desire for transparency and a willingness to acknowledge wrongdoing regardless of party affiliation, in this case, the absence of evidence suggests Biden is innocent and that Republicans are making stuff up about him.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump's insane campaign ad: Gas prices and Biden is old
Donald Trump published an anti-Biden campaign ad on Truth Social yesterday. The ad focuses on criticizing Joe Biden for his age, attributing high gas prices to his administration, and presenting a contrast with Trump's tenure. The ad features powerful visuals of Trump's interactions with world leaders and moments during his presidency, juxtaposed with clips of Biden, including instances of him tripping, set to clown music. The video focused partly on gas prices, with shots of lower prices during Trump's term and images of Biden accompanied by inflation reports. This is a very simplistic view of gas prices, as there are global and complex factors influencing them. Overall, the effectiveness of Trump's strategy is in question, particularly in blaming Biden for gas prices and raising concerns about age, suggesting that these arguments may not resonate strongly with voters.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump will (again) try to destroy Obamacare if he wins in 2024
Donald Trump is returning to one of his unfulfilled promises from his 2016 campaign, renewing a commitment to dismantle Obamacare if granted a second term. There are broader worries about Trump's potential misuse of the Department of Justice, suppression of disfavored media outlets, and diplomatic shifts favoring dictators over historical allies. There’s also the impracticality of Trump's vow to eliminate Obamacare, as past proposals like the American Health Care Act were widely criticized for their potential to increase the number of uninsured Americans. After over a decade, Obamacare is deeply integrated into the healthcare system, making the idea of its complete removal nonsensical. Trump's ability to deliver on longstanding promises should raise skepticism, particularly regarding healthcare reform, given the complex and entrenched nature of the Affordable Care Act in the current healthcare landscape.
