Biden State of the Union Starts & Ends Strong with Weak Middle
Joe Biden delivered his first official State of the Union address last night and it was an overall decent performance. The beginning and ending of the speech were strong, but the middle had some issues with pep, pacing, and lack of detail. Biden opened the speech talking about the ongoing situation in Ukraine, which got a lot of bipartisan support. The president announced a new ban on Russian aircraft entering US airspace and pledged his support for the Ukrainian people. Another notable moment was when he correctly pointed out that Donald Trump’s tax cuts disproportionately benefited the rich, which Republicans booed. GOP members, however, applauded when Biden called for securing the southern border and funding police departments. The president had a few awkward moments like when he confused Iranians with Ukrainians, but all in all, it was a relatively normal address and Biden turned in a suitable performance.
Disgusting Boebert Heckles Biden As He Talks About Death of His Son
Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert did perhaps the most disrespectful thing ever at a State of the Union address last night. When President Biden was talking about military members who ended up in coffins serving their country, Boebert heckled, “you put them in, 13 of them.” To make this ugly moment look even worse, Biden transitioned into speaking specifically about his son Beau, who died of brain cancer after serving in the US Army. Boebert went to Twitter last night to try to defend her actions and wrote, “when Biden said flag draped coffins I couldn’t stay silent, I told him directly he did it. He put 13 in there.” The congresswoman is trying to get herself out of an utterly immoral action by claiming her morals couldn’t have allowed her to stay silent like everyone else. This is far worse than when Republican Rep. Joe Wilson yelled out “you lie!” at Barack Obama during one of his addresses to Congress. Back then, GOP leadership was willing to hold their members accountable, but the same cannot be said about the modern Republican Party, which appears totally fine with Boebert’s outburst.

Trump FURIOUS as DeSantis Polls 28% in CPAC 2024 Straw Poll
A straw poll was done at CPAC over the weekend and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is getting more support for a presidential run than ever before. Donald Trump still won the poll, with 59% support from the votes of more than 2,500 conference attendees. However, DeSantis got 28% in the poll which is well above the 21% he got last year. No other hypothetical contenders were able to get more than 2% of the vote. Trump has been growing increasingly furious with DeSantis for refusing to rule out a 2024 presidential run. The former president wants a clear path to the Republican nomination, and it doesn’t seem as though the Florida governor is interested in giving him that. Both possible 2024 contenders have been making jabs at each other over the last few months, with Trump criticizing DeSantis for not admitting to getting the COVID booster shot and DeSantis expressing regret over participating in Trump’s “15 days to slow the spread.” This back and forth can only be good for whoever the Democratic nominee is in 2024.
From yesterday’s show:
Could Putin Be Terminally Ill?
There is speculation that Vladimir Putin is behaving in the way he is because he’s terminally ill. There is no concrete evidence showing this, however, a number of factors play into making a circumstantial case for it. Putin seems totally unconcerned with the consequences of the war he is fighting in Ukraine and what it has done to the Russian economy and the people of his country. Some believe him to look ill in the videos he’s putting out and clips released days apart show him wearing the same clothes. This suggests maybe they were filmed on the same day because he’s not well enough to be out of bed very often. If Putin is indeed terminally ill, this could be incredibly dangerous for the people of the world as he could be open to the idea of leaving behind a path of destruction in a World War III-like scenario.
