Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated during a college event in Utah, shocking the nation and raising fears of escalating political violence. The shooter fired from a rooftop and remains at large, while criticism grows over the FBI’s handling of the case.
The investigation has faced major missteps. FBI Director Kash Patel initially claimed a suspect was in custody, then retracted the statement when the individual was released. Surveillance footage shows a figure leaving a nearby rooftop, but authorities have little confirmed information. Utah officials say the case has promising leads, and the FBI hinted at possible foreign intelligence involvement, though nothing is confirmed.
Donald Trump blamed the “radical left” for Kirk’s death despite no verified information about the shooter. His speech escalated tensions, suggesting critics bore responsibility and promoting rhetoric that some MAGA supporters interpreted as a call for retaliation.
The assassination has reignited debates over gun control. The shooting, executed from long range despite Kirk having security, underscores how accessible and deadly firearms are in the U.S. Advocates point to universal background checks, red flag laws, and limits on military-style weapons as ways to prevent future tragedies.
Kirk’s death also highlights the new reality of political violence in the smartphone era. High-definition videos spread instantly on social media, exposing younger generations to graphic images and compressing the time between event and reaction. Unlike past assassinations, coverage amplifies shock, misinformation, and politicization, turning the incident into a defining media event.
Meanwhile, countless other shootings occurred the same day, including a school shooting in Colorado, but received far less attention. The disparity shows how media coverage shapes public perception, turning some attacks into national crises while leaving others largely invisible.
In her memoir 107 Days, Kamala Harris criticizes Joe Biden’s decision to run for reelection, calling it political malpractice and arguing that the stakes were too high to leave to one individual’s judgment. She claims Biden’s team failed to adequately support her and, at times, actively undermined her, citing issues like the delayed endorsement and her role as border czar, which set her up to fail.

We must keep our focus. Feet on the ground, mind alert. We cannot let them dictate the narrative. We are able capable people who can stand up to this administration rhetoric.
Funny thing how he ignores the assignation of The Minnesota representative & her husband, attacks on Nancy Pelosi's husband, the plot to kidnap Governor Whitmore... I could go on but you get the idea. The only political violence he wants folks to remember is that against Republicans.
And there has been almost NO mention of the school shooting at the Colorado high school an hour after the assassination's of Charlie Kirk.
