Trump's INSANE Answer When Asked About Ron DeSantis
Donald Trump did an over-the-phone interview with Real America’s Voice, and he gave an insane answer when asked about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump claimed that he “got him elected” and that DeSantis would not have won without his endorsement. Trump has previously claimed this about DeSantis’s 2018 election, but now he seems to be applying the same logic for the 2022 race, which DeSantis won by nineteen percentage points. Trump essentially played no role in DeSantis’s blowout victory. In the final days before the midterms, Trump held a rally in Florida but excluded DeSantis from his invitee list. Trump also called him “Ron DeSanctimonious,” which made the Republican Party look disjointed with just days to go before the election. It’s commonplace for Trump to take credit for other people’s successes, but in this instance, it makes absolutely zero sense.
VIDEO: "George Santos" Calls Himself "Anthony Devolder"
There’s growing evidence that pathological liar Congressman George Santos actually went by “Anthony Devolder” before he sought public office. Video has surfaced of Santos introducing himself at a WalkAway LGBT event in New York City. At the event, Santos got ahold of the microphone and said, “my name’s Anthony Devolder.” As far as we know, his full name is George Anthony Devolder Santos, so the name “George Santos” didn’t come from nowhere, but it’s clear he hasn’t always gone by it. The suspicion is that he may have made the switch as a way to appeal to Latino voters. Santos has been caught lying about everything from his work history, his education, athletic acumen, and his family heritage. It’s only logical that he’d even be lying about his own name as well.
From over the weekend:
Do People Really Not Remember 2011-2019?
Republicans now have control of the House of Representatives, and if there’s any way to tell how they will govern, it’s by looking at the period of time when the GOP last held control of the lower chamber from 2011 to 2019. During that time, the primary focus of the right was repealing the Affordable Care Act, and most of the time they didn’t have any health care plan of their own to replace it with. Republicans also rolled back environmental regulations, withdrew from the Paris climate agreement, gutted the EPA's budget, and were a disaster on immigration, including the separation of families at the border. They also attempted to pass tax bills that would have exploded the deficit and largely benefited the top one percent. Whenever the GOP gains control of a legislative body, they do horrible things, and their past record serves as a disturbing preview of what's to come in the next two years.
From over the weekend:
Republican Says Taxation is Theft. Her Salary is Paid by Taxes
Freshman Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna's claim that "taxation is theft" during a Fox Business interview is a popular sentiment among conservatives and libertarians, but it is not a logical statement. Taxation is a voluntary action by citizens, who have the option to work or not work and can choose to live in a different country with a different tax system. Additionally, citizens can lobby for elected officials who share their views on taxation. It is also worth noting that Luna's salary is paid with tax dollars, suggesting that she either willingly accepts "stolen money" or does not truly believe that taxation is theft.
