Trump Nods: Ron DeSantis is a Piece of $&!t
The rift between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis is growing as the 2024 presidential election draws closer and both men appear to be gearing up for a run against one another. Case in point, Donald Trump saw his crony Roger Stone over the weekend at an event in Mar-a-Lago, and when Stone called DeSantis a “piece of sh*t,” Trump nodded in agreement. The former president has criticized the Florida governor in passing and has taken credit for his rise to stardom in the Republican Party. However, he’s stopped short of fully going after DeSantis, and maybe Stone is trying to accelerate what seems to be an inevitable butting of heads. The betting website PredictIt shows both Trump and DeSantis as viable contenders for the GOP nod in 2024, with Trump having a 38% chance at winning and DeSantis having a 30% chance. Far behind are Nikki Haley and Mike Pence at 7% and 5% respectively. Republican voters are becoming aware that there’s an alternative to Trump in 2024 and some are starting to seriously consider an alternative.
Judge Says Effort to Remove MTG Can Proceed, MTG LOSES IT on Fox
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene may not be allowed to appear on the ballot in November as she seeks her second term in office. There’s an effort in Georgia to disqualify Greene from running for reelection due to her role in the January 6, 2021 Trump Capitol riots. The law cited dates back to a provision that disallowed former members of the Confederacy from seeking office in the United States following the Civil War. Greene tried to get the case dismissed, but Judge Amy Totenberg denied her request for a preliminary injunction. This does not mean that Greene will be definitively kicked off the ballot, but it does mean the case will be allowed to go forward and she might be. Greene went on Tucker Carlson’s show last night to complain about the ruling and she blamed bureaucrats and the left for the effort. It remains an open question whether MTG will get reelected in November but this is one way to ensure that she will not.

"Testicle Tanning" Proposed on Tucker Carlson's "Masculinity" Special
Tucker Carlson has produced a special on masculinity called “The End of Men” and it’s most notable for promoting a red light therapy known as “testicle tanning.” The special is based on the premise that testosterone rates in man have been decreasing in recent decades and that it’s a trend that urgently needs to be reversed. The promo for the special featured shirtless men working out, wrestling, milking a cow, and of course, the infamous testicle tanning. Perhaps the most striking aspect to all of this is that Tucker Carlson, who’s not the prototypical “manly” figure, is the one putting this issue front and center. Donald Trump also didn’t match these “macho man” characteristics the right loves to boast about, and yet somehow two of the leading forces in the Republican Party now are Trump and Carlson.
From yesterday’s show:
Kentucky Has Banned Abortion
The state of Kentucky has essentially banned abortion. A new law is forcing all remaining abortion providers to effectively shut down due to a number of new restrictions. Abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy will not be allowed, minors will have restricted access to the procedure, and there is now a crackdown on medications that terminate early pregnancies. This is arguably the strictest policy on abortion any state has come up with and it is almost certainly in violation of the landmark 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court case. However, with the court possibly ready to strike down Roe vs. Wade in the coming weeks, Kentucky and a handful of other states will be ready with their draconian new policies. This is the consequence of Donald Trump getting four years as president and being able to put three right-wing justices on the court. Perhaps the Supreme Court will end up keeping Roe vs. Wade, but it’s definitely not a safe bet to make with six out of the nine current justices being conservative.

I don't know how the U.S. system works, but could the federal government buy an abortion clinic in Kentucky and hire the staff as their employees? Surely the state government couldn't shut it down.
