Trump's Brain Falls Out in Front of Tiny Crowd at Deranged Rally
Donald Trump held another rally over the weekend, this time in Commerce, Georgia, and sadly for him, it was his most poorly attended in many years. The estimated crowd size was 5,000 people, far short of the numbers of tens of thousands that Trump loves to boast about. During the speech, the former president recounted the media controversy over him calling Vladimir Putin “genius” and he once again found a way to compliment the Russian president. Trump said, “I actually thought he was going to be negotiating. I said, that’s a hell of a way to negotiate, put 200,000 soldiers on the border.” Later on, Trump tried to sound relatable to the public but failed miserably. He implied that the Tiffany jewelry store was out of rings “but the good news is you don’t buy anything. You save a lot of money.” Trump also addressed the confirmation hearings of Ketanji Brown Jackson and made the claim that Judge Jackson was “unbelievably disrespectful to Republican senators that in many cases were really nicely asking questions.” In fact, many Republican senators had open contempt for Judge Jackson, and it’s hard to say where this allegation against KBJ even came from. Perhaps this was an ad lib from the former president, which like so many others from Trump, failed to make any sense.
What is a Woman?
Last week, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was asked the question “can you provide a definition for the word ‘woman?’” by Senator Marsha Blackburn. Jackson refused to answer the question, which created a stir in conservative circles about how the left supposedly doesn’t know what men and women are anymore given the conversation around trans issues. Judge Jackson was wise not to answer the question, as the intent was to push her into a corner and it could serve to impact her future decisions when issues about these topics are being debated. However, even though this question was asked by Blackburn in bad faith, a good faith response also could never be 100% satisfactory. Some people may define a woman as a grown person who is not a man, but this does not account for intersex people. Others may define a woman as a person who produces eggs, but this obviously doesn’t apply to postmenopausal women. Even the people who are opposed to recognizing trans people as their desired gender and think the definition of man and woman are straightforward will struggle to provide a completely universal answer to the seemingly simple question of “what is a woman?”

Fight Breaks Out at Republican Senate Debate
A physical fight nearly broke out at a Republican primary debate last week in what was truly a mockery of the American political process. Josh Mandel and Mike Gibbons, both running for a US Senate seat representing Ohio, got face to face and chest to chest when discussing their experience and qualifications. Gibbons said to Mandel, “you’ve never been in the private sector.” This prompted Mandel to stand up and reference his military credentials. He shouted, “two tours in Iraq, don’t tell me I haven’t worked.” The confrontation caused the crowd to jeer and the moderator to calmly get between them and say, “it’s okay, alright?” The showdown looked much more like an altercation at a bar than a debate for a US Senate seat, but given the state of Republican politics today, maybe that’s what many of their voters are looking for.

Actual Doctor Crushes Republican Goons on Abortion
In a viral clip, Kentucky State Senator Karen Berg confronted her colleagues, mostly Republican white men, about what their restrictive abortion bill would do to women in the state. The legislation seeks to ban abortion after the fifteenth week of pregnancy and is modelled after the Mississippi abortion law which is currently challenging Roe vs. Wade in the Supreme Court. During her statement, Berg said, “I look around at my colleagues on this committee. I am the only woman on this podium right now. I am the only physician sitting on this podium. This bill is a medical sham. It does not follow medicine. It does not even purport to listen to medicine.” Of course, for the lawmakers who voted yes on this legislation, it’s not actually about “following medicine,” it’s about achieving their generations-long commitment to shattering abortion rights in Kentucky and across the United States.
