Marjorie Taylor Greene banned from speaking after unhinged rant
During a congressional hearing, Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene made baseless accusations against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and accused fellow member of the House, Eric Swalwell, of having a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy. Greene called Mayorkas a liar, resulting in her words being taken down and her being banned from speaking for the remainder of the hearing. When speaking about China “poisoning America’s children,” Greene asked Mayorkas “How long are you going to let this go on?” He responded, “Congresswoman, let me assure you that we're not letting it go on. We are fighting this.” Then Greene retorted, “No, I reclaim my time. You're a liar. You are letting this go on.” Homeland Security Chairman Mark Green pointed out how MTG’s comments violated House rules and struck her comments from the record. Hilariously, since Marjorie Taylor Greene lost her right to speak at the hearing, there are many people in the country who will see this as censorship and the latest attack on right-wing free speech.
Trump PANICS about arrests, claims Biden "guilty" in sick video
Donald Trump’s panic over the possibility of getting charged with more crimes has led him to declare that Joe Biden is guilty of crimes, without providing any examples or evidence whatsoever. Trump also called Jack Smith, the special prosecutor investigating two federal cases against him, a “lunatic.” He said, “Trump-hating prosecutor Jack Smith, a lunatic, should go get Biden for what he did. He's very guilty. I’m not.” In no way is this behavior in line with the supposed Republican principles of law and order and due process. Biden hasn’t even been the focus of a criminal investigation, let alone been charged with anything. But Trump still finds it appropriate to baselessly declare him guilty of crimes. It’s obvious that the felony charges in New York and the possibility of more charges coming from Georgia and Washington D.C. are really weighing on the former president.
From yesterday’s show:
HOLY $&!T: Fox News lawyers throw Trump under the bus
The recent settlement of $787.5 million between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems has shed light on the network's legal defense strategy, which was to blame former President Donald Trump and his allies for the false claims made about Dominion during the 2020 US election. In court documents filed just before the trial was set to begin, lawyers for Fox News argued that Trump's own rhetoric about the election being rigged against him with Dominion's involvement was the primary inspiration for the network's allegedly defamatory claim. This legal defense is similar to the argument made by many of the January 6th rioters, who claimed that they were simply following Trump's lead. Fox lawyers have previously argued in court that hosts like Tucker Carlson are entertainers rather than journalists, and therefore cannot be held legally accountable for everything they say on air. This defense strategy no doubt has upset the former president and he’ll be ready to use it in his next attack against the network.
From yesterday’s show:
Bidens made $579,000 in 2022, paid normal taxes, absolutely no controversy
Joe and Jill Biden have released their 2022 tax returns, which show a combined income of $579,000 and a federal tax rate of 23.8%, along with state taxes. Despite attempts by right-wing critics to create controversy, the Bidens' income and taxes are standard and uncontroversial. While Joe Biden is a multimillionaire, his income is significantly less than that of former President Donald Trump, who reportedly made $400 million a year during his presidency and is a multibillionaire. The Bidens' income primarily came from Joe Biden's $400,000 presidential salary, with Jill Biden earning around $82,000 teaching at a community college. Some of their income also came from donations to charities. Joe Biden actually released his tax returns, unlike Donald Trump, whose returns we didn’t find out about until they were released by a House committee. Overall, there is nothing controversial about the Bidens' income or taxes, and attempts to create controversy surrounding this are unfounded.
