Dripping Wet Trump Visibly Scared at Sick Rally
Donald Trump held a rally in Warren, Michigan on Saturday night to support gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon and a number of other Republican candidates. Trump came up with a new 2020 election hypothesis which is that John James, a Republican who ran for Senate in Michigan, actually won his race against Democratic Senator Gary Peters. Trump said, “he did great. I think he happened to win the last election for the Senate. I happen to think he won by quite a bit.” James lost his race by about 90,000 votes and there’s no evidence that he actually got more votes or was the victim of voter fraud. Trump went on to claim, “I don’t believe we’ll ever have a fair election again.” If the ex-president really does believe this, then why should his supporters go out and vote? And of course, the truth is that if Trump had his way in 2020, America wouldn’t have fair elections because the candidate who got fewer electoral votes would be able to take power. The authoritarian slide led by people like Trump gets even steeper now only a month away from the 2022 midterm races.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Dems Have Started Killings of Republicans
Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene spoke at Donald Trump’s rally in Warren, Michigan over the weekend and made an incendiary claim about Democrats. Greene said, “we’re all targets now though for daring to push back against the regime and it doesn’t stop at a weaponized legal system. I’m not going to mince words with you all. Democrats want Republicans dead and they’ve already started the killings.” Greene then gave a couple of examples of attacks committed by people supposedly on the left for political reasons against right-wingers. Digging into these examples, they aren’t nearly as clear-cut as MTG would have you believe, but in a country of over 300 million people, they can always be found. There are also plenty of instances of folks on the right attacking left-wingers but it doesn’t mean generally that Republicans want Democrats dead. This is utterly irresponsible language by Marjorie Taylor Greene but rather than taking ownership and apologizing for her statements, Greene will double down and continue making outlandish claims like this one.

Texas AG FLED HOME in Truck to Avoid Subpoena
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton fled his home in a truck to avoid being handed a subpoena in a civil abortion case. The subpoena ordered Paxton to appear in court to testify in a civil suit against non-profits that want to help Texas women get abortions in other states. The process server arrived at the attorney general’s house, and Ken along with his wife State Senator Angela Paxton hopped in a truck and drove away without taking the documents. The subpoena was left on the ground near the house. The attorney general later claimed that he fled because the process server charged at him and yelled unintelligibly. Later on, a federal judge quashed the court order, saying the demands to make it legitimate went unsatisfied. Regardless of the ultimate decision, a state attorney general should know better than try and skirt the serving of official court documents.

Republicans WIPE Trump from Website After Winning Primary
A number of Republican candidates wiped mentions of Donald Trump from their websites after winning their respective primaries and needing to pivot to the general election. One example is Bo Hines, who’s running for a US congressional seat from North Carolina. Hines had a picture of a grinning Trump on his website before winning his primary, but now almost all references to the ex-president have been scrapped a month out from the midterms. At least five House Republicans in battleground districts have done something similar. This signals a clear awareness that Trump is detrimental to these Republican candidates if they’re trying to defeat Democratic opponents. While these candidates were able to defeat fellow Republicans by hitching their wagons to Trump, the former president is so extreme and divisive that he becomes a liability in the general election.
