Robert F Kennedy Jr: Vaccine Requirements Worse Than Holocaust
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. headlined a “Defeat the Mandates” rally in Washington DC and claimed that vaccine mandates are worse than the Holocaust. This was publicized as an anti-mandate rally, but many of the people there were openly anti-vaccine. Kennedy made the case that at least Jews and other minority groups in Nazi Germany had a chance at hiding or escaping. He said, “today, the mechanisms are being put in place that will make it so none of us can run and none of us can hide.” The Auschwitz Memorial put out a statement condemning the comparison saying, “exploiting of the tragedy of people who suffered, were humiliated, tortured & murdered by the totalitarian regime of Nazi Germany — including children like Anne Frank — in a debate about vaccines & limitations during global pandemic is a sad symptom of moral & intellectual decay.” Kennedy also touched on a few other conspiracy theories in a subtle way meant to appeal to those who are worried about 5G and low orbit satellites. While RFK Jr. has done great work in some areas including environmental law, this speech can potentially do a tremendous amount of damage.
Trump Delivers Worst Interview in History to Sean Hannity
Donald Trump did a call-in interview with Sean Hannity that may be on par with his 2020 Axios interview with Jonathan Swan in terms of how depraved and idiotic it was. Perhaps the funniest part of the exchange was when Hannity made a metaphor about how some of what Joe Biden is doing is like he’s repeatedly banging his head against a wall. Trump took what Hannity was saying literally and brought up the US-Mexico border. He responded, “so we would have had the wall completed in three weeks. It was largely completed.” Ironically, after this embarrassment, they talked about Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities and Trump bragged about how well he did on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment which is meant to screen for dementia. During the interview, Hannity also complimented Trump on “creating” the monoclonal antibody treatment for COVID. Trump’s interview abilities seem to be worsening with time and his recycling of talking points just continue to fall flat.

The Republican Party is Pulling Out of President Debates
Republicans are continuing down their authoritarian slide with a new requirement that future presidential nominees pledge not to participate in general election debates. This move is an attempt to stop the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates from being in charge of them, as RNC leadership argues they were unfair to Donald Trump in the 2020 race. RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel sent a letter to the commission demanding changes be made. She said, “The RNC has shared our concerns with the CPD in good faith . . . unfortunately, neither the tone nor substance of your latest response inspires confidence that the CPD will meaningfully address the serious issues which the RNC has raised.” Republicans anticipate at this point that they have nothing to gain from exchanging ideas with opposing candidates. If this calculation changes, they’ll gladly go right back to participating in them whether or not the Commission on Presidential Debates is still in charge.

Trump Admits How They'll Try to Steal More Elections
Donald Trump and other Republicans are now being open about their plans to steal elections if they lose in 2022 and 2024. The 2022 midterms are especially concerning, because if Republicans win back the House of Representatives and Senate as some are expecting, they could be in a position to overturn wins by Democrats in the next election cycle. Trump admitted to this strategy in a video he put out. The former president said, “we’re going to be a lot sharper the next time when it comes to counting the vote. There’s a famous statement, ‘sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate.’ And we can’t ever ever let that happen again. They have to get tougher and smarter.” We’ve been suspecting that this has been the strategy for Republicans going forward and sadly it has become normalized over the past year with party members being unwilling to hold their own accountable.
