Awesome constructive post. The likes prove how valuable this is to solving the problem.

No matter how intelligent we are, it is a very stupid thing to prognosticate Trump's reign with quips such as "four years," "guardrails," "congress has the power," "unconstitutional," etc. "We'll have to wait and see" is fear and resignation. Following on Liz Cheney, we are in a dictatorship, question is when will the smart people wake up? The only hope is for us to band together and fight like hell.

FINALLY! Someone who actually "gets" it. Pitty there aren't more people like you who are solution-focused instead of jumping on the bandwagon of quips. Without sarcasm, you have my utmost respect. And I am actually thankful to see your post.

Another brilliant post. The key is short because people don't have the ability to read long posts. 4 sentences is TLDR. And it's perfectly encapsulating the emotion of the group who want to vent. This is crucial for the future of the world.

We’ve discovered that Elon will not leave DonOld alone!

The name of this administration, shall be 👉🏼 “The Administration of eDJTs “

👉🏼 “The Felon’s Cabinet of eDJTs!”

And for the most useful of all eDJTs

👉🏼 “Putin’s special gang of eDJTs”

This is a work in progress and I’m expecting another 48 hour block in retribution

LOOK FOLKS, We must all come together be as brutal in our response as is They’re giving us their demands‼️

This is NOT the time to come Appart.

The only way for people to come together is to have a solid definition of the situation based on facts, where every party can then have a shared common ground. When people have no clue as to what the real problem is, they will NEVER be able to come to an agreement on how to fix the issues. Divide and conquer. And there has never been such a divide as the current system has created. Both sides are operating on inaccurate information. And those are extreme views without understanding all sides. It's the simple Socratic method. Ridiculing them is EXACTLY what they want.

“ on Day One” is the eDJT catch phrase.

But following , I must be referring to the eDJT.

Bernie should be asking for This lone sycophant Elon, To lose his citizenship and be deported back to his homeland , South America, and not attacking our military at this juncture‼️

Further , yes, we must speak with one voice!

if Bernie actually wants to do something, he can start proceeding right now to impeach this fucking eDJT “on day one!” and not allow him to ascend to the presidency‼️

There's no point in doing anything with the current system. There is way too much power to skew the facts into whatever rhetoric they want. Bernie already suffered from the attacks of the government to the point where he pretty much vanished from the discourse. If Bernie actually cared, he would be fighting for what happened to him to be stopped forever so that people with great ideas could actually voice them without the system crushing them. But Bernie uses the hate and fear too to get his agendas and following in place. Maybe he's fearful that if people knew the truth, someone else more qualified would take his place.

Nope? Cue? Si 🤣🙏🏽😇

I feel sorry for Bernie. He has the right ethical compass, but the system is not built for him. So yeah calling for a day off to vote might be the best hope he has. However, that's a LOT of manhours that businesses would miss out on exploiting.

What is Trumps end game? He's old and will be decrepit and senile by the time he's done sitting all over democracy. Does he believe in anything besides ego and wealth? One runs hand in hand with the other in his world. I ask these questions out of curiosity. The answers might seem straight forward and simple but I believe they're more involved. In the meantime I'll do whatever I can to be a fly in his putrid soup.

Steve's avatar

It's not his endgame you should be worried about. He's not the one in power. The real problem is people's inability to sort fact from fiction. Because of those, the powers that be can have the public fighting about inconsequential still like "Trump is inconsistent" instead of actually solving the problem. The solutions are out there, but hubs like TDPS refuse to get the solutions, and present the solutions to the people with agency to implement them. And so we are stuck spitting abuse in the choir because posting solutions gets less likes.

Yep it's pretty much across the board. The environment has forced them into this situation and they have to adapt to survive in the system. Facts and ethics always come second to surviving in this system. And the more it gets harder to survive, the more dirty tricks they have to use to keep going. It's just sad and stupid that the actual ethical journalists can't be given their own space for people to browse through, separate from tabloid entertainment. Then both genres could thrive in their perspective markets without the major downsides.

Aussies rule :D I love our laid back attitude. Unfortunately, a lot of what the US does ends up being culturally disseminated to us, and we start taking on some of the tendencies of America because of the close ties and the shared cultural industries.

It's pretty simple. The other half of the country actually don't see what you see. You see all this hatred for what Trump is doing. The other side see "Trump is actually doing things to help us!" And it doesn't matter if it's true or not, people lap it up because it fits their confirmation bias. The Democrats do the same thing, skewing things and taking them out of context, to invoke rage in viewers. It's the way the system is built. Rage gets interaction. Unbiased fact-based truth is seriously boring in comparison.

Thanks David, your words echo my thoughts exactly. I was even thinking about Trump vs Hitler last night. Which one was actually worse. Of course Hitler caused the suffering and death of millions of people and wanted to basically convert the world to his maniacal ideology. But at least he had some (albeit horribly sick and twisted) sort of conviction that he was somehow helping the German people. Trump, on the other hand appears to have only two goals, financial enrichment and power. He obviously has no loyalty to anyone or anything except himself and would happily throw his own mother (let alone his "friends", supporters and country) under a bus if it looked like it would help him. The only plus side is that, while Hitler would probably have been happy to unleash a nuclear holocaust on the planet, Trump would be unlikely to do so because it might impact on his own life. However, appears more than willing to accelerate the onset of a climate catastrophe which will impact all of us....

Actually, Hilter probably didn't believe his rhetoric. Most of it is simply a way to control the masses. Chomsky's 5 filters. It doesn't matter if you believe the story about the enemy, as long as you provide an enemy for the masses to target their blame onto. Additionally, a lot of the decisions about how WWII went was actually the agenda of advisors and people in his inner circle. It's really difficult to know truthfully what Hitler's true agenda was, but I do believe in the early days, it was all about getting the power of control over the people. I read that his father was domineering and died when Hitler was 13, leaving him to take control. This would have been very powerful in his motives to have control in everything he did. The rest might have just been and means to and end. Point being, it's not the man that's the problem. It's the system that allows these atrocities to happen that's the problem.

I don’t care which religion you were born into; which one you discovered later; or if you are an atheist altogether. It was foretold in both books of the Bible: Trump is the Antichrist (Satan), and he will (finally) end the Great Tribulation. We are at the end of the world, with racism and hatred rampant; global warming; weather out of control--earthquakes; flooding; famine; millions of people dying in wars: this is what was foretold. Make peace with your Maker now. This ain’t no dress rehearsal. (It all makes sense now.)

I would suggest that the best way to make peace with our maker is to do our damdest to try to make sure this doesn't take place. If we all work together we have every chance of pulling the plug on authoritarian leaders, reversing climate change and building a fairer, greener, happier and more beautiful future than even we can dream of....
