Dems KEEP GAINING on Republicans for 2022
We now have updated numbers for the 2022 midterms which are only weeks away and Democrats are building on their odds to hold onto the House and Senate. According to FiveThirtyEight, there is now a 71% chance that Democrats will hold onto the Senate, and only a 29% chance that Republicans are able to take it over. This is key because it means Dems will still be able to confirm President Biden’s judicial nominations even if Republicans are able to take the House of Representatives. Democrats do still have some shot at holding onto the House, however, even though Republicans need only pick up fewer than ten seats in order to win it back. According to FiveThirtyEight, Republicans have a 72% chance of winning the House with Democrats having a 28% chance. The trend over the past few months has been moving in the Democrats’ direction and although it’s not the most likely possibility, there is a chance that the left could come out on top in November.
Trump DERANGED, Threatens Violence if Indicted
Donald Trump completely humiliated himself on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show this week when the alternate slate of electors scheme got brought up. Hewitt said, “they are attempting, I think, to indict people for plans to select alternative electors on 1/6. Have you received a target letter, Mr. Preisdent?” Trump fumbled through a response, saying that he hasn’t received such a letter and that “when you look at alternate slates, that’s been done for decades and decades, many many years.” Trump is wrong on this as he is on most things. What does happen is that people get prepared to become electors if their candidate wins. What hasn’t happened before the 2020 election is a bunch of random people coming together to present themselves as electors for the candidate who lost and attempting to cast fraudulent votes on their behalf. There were so many layers of alleged criminality behind the ex-president’s efforts to overturn the race and this is just the latest one that might get Trump associates in trouble.

Ron DeSantis Flies 50 Migrants to Martha's Vineyard in Sick Stunt
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pulled a disgusting political stunt, flying fifty migrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, an island in Massachusetts. They arrived in two planes without warning with the message being it’s always southern conservative states that have to deal with an influx of immigrants from central and South America, so it’s time for a liberal area to have to do the same. The reaction wasn’t what DeSantis expected, with the community rallying together to support these people in need. State Rep. Dylan Fernandes posted about this, “Our island jumped into action putting together 50 beds, giving everyone a good meal, providing a play area for the children, making sure people have the healthcare and support they need. We are a community that comes together to support immigrants.” Massachusetts ranks much better than Florida and Texas when it comes to metrics like health care and education, so it’s hard to see how sending migrants to the Bay State would be teaching them a lesson not to come to the United States.
From yesterday’s show:
Melania Slammed Trump on COVID: "You're Blowing This"
A forthcoming book by Peter Baker and Susan Glasser called “The Divider” reports that in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Melania Trump warned the then-president about his mishandling of the public health emergency. Melania said to her husband, “you’re blowing this” and “this is serious. It's going to be really bad, and you need to take it more seriously than you're taking it.” Trump quipped back, “you worry too much” and “forget it.” In the end, Melania was correct about Trump’s dismissiveness of the virus being a political liability. All around the world, the leaders who took COVID seriously enjoyed high approval numbers and won reelection. On the other hand, Trump claimed fifteen cases would soon be zero, that the infection numbers were being over-reported, and that hydroxychloroquine or bleach would solve everything. If he had listened to Melania, there’s some chance that Trump would still be president.

RE Covid: Our Governor (Jay Inslee) of Washington State was the first governor to report a Covid death. Trump blamed Inslee for "starting the hysteria" and referred to him as a "snake." He put the blame on our honored governor. It figures.
