What can we do to prevent the production of warehouses to hold 5,000 to 10,000 detainees awaiting deportation or legal hearings? I am old enough to remember the Holocaust and I don't want it to be repeated here in America.

Many cities and counties are refusing to fund the building of them or allow them to be built in their areas

Long form question, sorry.

If we're not going to support the education of students with "socialism" by subsidizing their tuition, can we at least make it fairer for students who need to take out loans by linking tuition rates and therefore debt, to the estimated earnings of graduates based on their degree? We can cap it at a certain percentage of projected earnings and universities can use high paying degrees to subsidize low paying ones. The data exists to do it and it is based on supply and demand.

I've worked in higher education for almost thirty years and can't understand how we can be living in a society that worships "free markets" and capitalism and still be charging people the same price for different degrees with very different market values.

Full disclosure, I'm not a libertarian; very much the opposite and believe we should subsidize education because it benefits everyone. I work in higher education opportunity programs and can see that the money spent to put one poor student through college is fully repaid ten times over during the course of their life in the form of taxes on wages, increased productivity, less social assistance use, etc.

With Trump’s approval continuing to fall, especially among independents, how much of a structural trap is the GOP facing now?

Republicans know that openly breaking with Trump triggers an immediate primary threat, yet staying aligned with him weakens them in competitive districts where he is increasingly unpopular. To what extent do you think Republican leaders understand this but feel unable to say it publicly, and how much is this dynamic shrinking the party’s ability to compete anywhere outside reliably red areas?

1. Per Google AI, a flight from Washington, D.C. to Palm Beach, Florida, aboard Air Force One, may cost around $800K. Including the return equals around $1.6M. Recently, DJT has been going to play golf in Florida almost every weekend, and on those flights, aboard Air Force One, he sometimes opens the door to the press area and leans in for questions. Why haven’t journalists asked him if he realizes how much he’s costing Americans just to play golf?

2. Why do you think it is taking the Supreme Court so long to reach a decision on DJT’s tariffs?

3. The GOP is trying to pass new voting rules. Even if they are successful, isn’t it too late to apply the new rules to the Midterm Elections? For example, if mail-in voting is not allowed, states like Washington will need to put together an entirely new voting procedure. Usually governmental changes like this are rolled out over a period of years, not months.

Do you think after the cult leader and his cabal are gone, will we return to any send of decency, decorum, normal again? Will candidates sound “normal” or will we continue to accept rude, misogynist, racist, rhetoric as just another Tuesday?

Tim Russ's avatar

Do you think Trump and or his administration would be able to stop or delay the midterm elections for whatever reason they invented, and would all the states, and candidates, and population in general just go along with it?

David,

According to Lawfare Litigation Tracker, there are approximately 300 lawsuits that Trump’s administration is involved in. According to Demand Justice, nine law firms have agreed to provide Trump with $940 million of legal resources.

How are these legal resources being used? Do we know if they are, in fact, being used? When Trump leaves, do they stay with the presidential office? [highly unlikely] Who’s really paying for all the law fees that Trump, et.al. is racking up? Is this litigious president and his rogue DOJ using tax payers' money, and if so, what pot is it coming from?

What do you think about the courts and or Congress levying fines; thousands of dollars per day against anyone in the Executive branch who defies a court or Congressional order, and the fines increase every week if not complied with? We need a way to enforce decisions made by the courts and or Congress.

Hi David,

President Trumps „Board of Peace“ is starting today.

Do you think that there is a chance that it might contribute in some way to a more peaceful world or is it just another waste of money and time?

As a sidebar to the Epstein scandal, I see many FB posts .. 'cheated on all 3 wives', etc. If you are of a certain age, you recall when Trump orchestrated his affair mistress, Marla Maples, to drop in on the family ski vacation in Aspen (Dec. 1989) to verbally and publicly profess her love for Donald to Ivana's face. A rarity for a public figure, or just no devil on his shoulder that says 'don't do it'.. or, the devil isn't brushed away... surely those children, especially Jr. at age 12, had to have suffered the embarrassment and shame. Wouldn't speak to his father for a good part of 1990. I find that act speaks volumes to who he is and who he cares about, and the absence of empathy.

How was your experience at the airport coming back from Europe? And what airport was it?

I think the main reason for erasing and or rewriting history, Black history in particular … is so that current and future generations never learn now to resist, organize and fight back against fascism.

Why aren't you talking about Riley and all of the hundreds of comments about his experience being traumatized and raped by Trump?

I am wondering who is the most likely ( highest supported) Democratic leader that might be the next candidate for President? There seems to be a lot of milling about, but actual "Leadership " behavior is missing. It implies a rudderless ship ? Vs Trump "optics" charging ahead full speed etc ( albeit the ship crashes regularly). I am concerned about cohesive momentum in the Democratic party.
