"Leaders consistently rejecting violence". There's the rub David. Our "leaders" (I can not call them that with a straight face) are the very ones perpetuating the violence. How do we escape that truth?
I believe that education is also a path to defusing political violence. We need to educate people as to why the Second Amendment addressed gun ownership, why the Founding Fathers thought it was imperative. The problem is that the ears of the people who shout gun ownership as their right are deaf, plugged with ear buds, or covered with their hands. (sigh) I don't put out hope for this solution.
I am hoping that it is NOT TOO LATE for your country to pull back from the brink. ???
I am hoping that you HAVE THE WILL to pull back from the brink. ???
CURRENTLY looking a bit too much like Haiti, albeit with different costumes and masks (I mean that both physically and symbolically) ???
(SORRY FOR THE ALL-CAPS)
Just so you know: YouTube doesn't appear to be showing your entire podcasts/broadcasts/videos. I am only getting notified of 5- and 10-minute segments in dribs and drabs, despite being subscribed. Just thought you should know ...
Just ~ FYI Today I would like to encourage folks to buy more American. With these tariffs and all, our own made clothes should be cheaper. American Mfg will be going BIG on American made leggings this year. Please check them out folks, let's buy American. It should help us all.
Okay, most of what you say, David I can get behind, but I literally am a person who does statistical analysis and other fact checking (though I really doubt you will read my post).
Statement 1: A country awash in guns, where every argument can turn deadly.
I actually did some analysis a few years ago to learn about how much the level of gun ownership in a given nation affects gun death rates. I'm not going to go into all the results, but two things stood out - as long as there were any firearms in given community there was no connection between the number of guns owned and then number of deaths. For example Japan clearly has much fewer guns in private hands than the U.S., Japan had a higher rate of gun deaths than the U.S. I point this one out because of the strict gun control laws of Japan. When I did my detailed analysis I fully expected the number of guns in a community would result in more gun deaths. I'm NOT a gun owner and never have been. There is a reason that criminal law and psychology focuses on motive and not means.
Statement 2: Leaders who look the other way, make jokes about “Second Amendment solutions,” or excuse violence when it comes from their own side.
Who actually said this? I spent more than an two hours searching for any public figure who may have said this and I've not had any luck. The nearest finds were "Second Amendment people" (Trump), and "Second Amendment remedies" by Sharron Angle in a 2010 U.S. Senate campaign. It seems other people might have used the phrase in other contexts such as letters to the editor and similar. Trump does the crap of making alleged quotes from anonymous people. Please stop becoming like Trump with those kinds of lies.

Bingo!
We have a special problem in the U.S. right now where it is the government itself that is promoting the violence.
As always great points. Thank you so much for all that you do.

Really welcome, incisive, clear, extremely useful positive thinking. Well done!
Thumbs up.
May your voice reach their ears and the hear the messages.
