FLORIDA DISASTER: Hundreds Dead, 2.7 Million Without Power
Hurricane Ian has devastated Southwest Florida in what’s being regarded as one of the strongest storms to ever hit the United States. Winds of over 150 miles per hour made landfall first near Fort Myers, Florida, wiping out beaches, and flooding homes and streets all across the gulf coast. Nearly three million people are without power, with many deaths feared to be recorded in the coming days. President Biden has declared this a state of emergency and Governor Ron DeSantis has praised him and said, “when people’s lives and their property are at risk like this, you know, we all need to work together regardless of party lines.” DeSantis said about the storm, “The amount of water that’s been rising, and will likely continue to rise today even as the storm is passing, is basically a 500-year flooding event.” Sadly, with climate change, these types of extreme weather events can be expected to happen with regularity.
Trump Thought He Could Sue Congress for Impeaching Him
Donald Trump thought that he could sue Congress for impeaching him. The revelations come from Maggie Haberman’s book Confidence Man, where she recounts Trump saying “I’ll just sue Congress. They can’t do this to me.” Unclear from this reporting is whether the former president thought he could sue the US Congress as an institution or if he would be suing its individual members. This shouldn’t be a shock for anyone who has been following the trials and tribulations of Donald Trump. He has been extremely litigious throughout his life and has always turned to the threat of suing people. The ex-president also never had a grasp of how the United States government works and that Congress has every right to impeach a president.

Republican Tries 40 Days of Prayer & Fasting to Save Campaign
Doug Mastriano, the Republican nominee for Governor of Pennsylvania, is planning forty days of prayer between now and the midterm elections. This is because Mastriano is down massively to Democrat Josh Shapiro by an average gap of 9.3% according to the RealClearPolitics average. Mastriano is failing to inspire people to come out and support him, with a recent rally at the State Capitol looking like intern orientation day. Mastriano is now turning to divine intervention to make up the gap between now and November 8th. Up by a similar margin is John Fetterman, who’s running for a US Senate seat from Pennsylvania against Trump-endorsed Republican Mehmet Oz. Hopefully, this is a sign that PA is solidly in the blue column after voting for Donald Trump in 2016.
From yesterday’s show:
BREAKING: US Embassy Warns Americans to Leave Russia
The US Embassy is now warning American citizens in Russia to leave the country over fears that Vladimir Putin is getting increasingly desperate with his war in Ukraine. The American embassy in Moscow issued a security alert on the news that Putin ordered a partial mobilization for military-aged Russian men. The embassy also issues a warning for US citizens to “avoid all political or social protests and do not photograph security personnel at these events,” because “the right to peaceful assembly and freedom of expression are not guaranteed in Russia.” Some may wonder why Americans would still be in Russia following the start of the conflict, and the answer is it can often be difficult for people to uproot their lives out of a country they may know better than their own.
