Trump Visibly Disoriented, Confused Speech at Sick Rally
Donald Trump’s rallies continue to happen just about every weekend, and they’re becoming more politically relevant now that we’re in the heat of the primary season. On Friday, Trump spoke in Pennsylvania to pledge his support for Dr. Mehmet Oz who is running for Senate. Interestingly enough, not all of Trump’s supporters approve of Oz since he was liberal on social issues up until just recently. The rally was not without faux pas from the former president. Reading off the teleprompter, Trump said, “Pennsylvania is the commonwealth where our founding fathers declared American energy independence. Think of that. You were the first ones.” At another moment, Trump said Dr. Oz’s wife would make a great First Lady of Pennsylvania, even though he’s running for Senate, not Governor. Next Tuesday’s election will be yet another test for the power of a Donald Trump endorsement. Oz has been doing better in recent polls and now appears to be leading in the Republican primary.
WOW: Trump Proposed Bombing Mexico During Presidency
According to a new book by former Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Donald Trump proposed the idea of bombing drug labs in Mexico and pretending it wasn’t the United States that did it. Esper went on 60 Minutes and said “I had to explain to him it would violate international law, it would be terrible for our neighbors to the south, it would impact us in so many ways. Why don’t we do this instead?” Esper went on to say “he was reluctant to tell the story” because he thought people wouldn’t believe it. In truth, he saved the story for a time when he’d be able to profit from it by writing a tell-all book. Trump responded to the allegations from his former Defense Secretary with one of his official statements, saying “no comment” about whether he wanted to attack the Mexican drug cartels. This is basically a confirmation from Trump that he had this idea and he’s apparently unable to see how this makes him look bad.
From over the weekend:
Marjorie Taylor Greene TRIGGERED, Confronted by CNN Reporter
Marjorie Taylor Greene was recently confronted by CNN reporter Jim Acosta about her role in the January 6th insurrection and whether that should disqualify her from running for office again. Acosta asked Greene, “did you send a text asking the president to declare martial law?” Acosta then hilariously went on to clarify that he saw the texts himself and that “martial” was misspelled as “Marshall” but that she did indeed send the messages in question to then-Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. Greene’s strategy during the confrontation was to repeatedly call Jim a “liar” and ramble on so that he’d have a difficult time getting a word in. MTG also tried to play all sides of a defense saying that the texts didn’t say what Acosta alleged, that she didn’t remember what was said, and that it may not have even been her who said it. It’s stunning that someone so inept is currently serving as one of 435 members of the House of Representatives.
From over the weekend:
Yes, the Anti-Abortionists Have Been Very Violent
Ever since the draft opinion leaked from the Supreme Court that Roe vs. Wade is expected to be overturned in the coming weeks, the right as been pretending that the left is ready to engage in violence to make sure abortion rights are able to stay in place. In truth, the history of violence having to do with the topic of abortion is well documented and it is overwhelmingly committed by right-wing terrorists. According to CNN, there have been more than 200 bombings and arson attacks at facilities that offer abortion services. Doctors David Gunn, Barnett Slepian, and John Britton were a few of the people shot and killed by anti-abortions extremists. Famously, abortion clinic director George Tiller was shot and killed in Wichita, Kansas in 2009. It has unquestionably been the right that has been violent on this issue, which is rather ironic since they’re the ones calling themselves “pro-life.”
