The Republicans are now certifiably insane! Trump is working assiduously to destroy the economy while his blunder boys are moving to block any nutritional rescue for the citizens. Is he trying to reduce the population? Is he just insane? Get him the hell out of the WH and put JD in fear for his life!

Empires always start swinging at their own farmers when the lies stop feeding them. Bread, art, and dignity are the first things to get cut. The rest is noise in a gilded ballroom.

i think as patriotic Americans, we all need to tighten the belt a little so Trump can afford his ballroom

I personally will be growing a victory garden to save some veggies for his salads

I saw this quote regarding Mike Johnson today. "No food for you until the Democrats let us take away your healthcare?" I can forsee more extensive lawsuits.

The context is Mike Johnson's refusal to reconvene Congress. Because the Senate has not passed the Continuing Resolution (CR) in something like 14 separate votes the CR needs to go back to the House to be reworked and reworded.

That can't happen until Mike Johnson reconvenes Congress.

Meanwhile forcing 40+ million citizens to go without food by denying SNAP, which I believe emanates from the White House, is an attempt to force a vote via duress.

Forcing a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives under duress, especially through intimidation, threats, or coercion is illegal and potentially criminal.

🔹 Federal Law Prohibitions

Under 18 U.S. Code § 594, it's a federal offense to intimidate, threaten, or coerce someone to vote a certain way—or to prevent them from voting freely on any matter, including legislation or elections. This applies to votes for Members of Congress and other federal offices.

🔹 Voting Rights Protections

52 U.S. Code § 10307 also prohibits coercion in voting contexts, including attempts to influence or suppress votes through threats or abuse of authority. While this statute is primarily aimed at public elections, its principles reinforce the broader illegality of coercion in democratic processes.

🔹 Congressional Rules and Ethics

The House operates under strict internal rules and ethical standards. Any member attempting to force a vote through duress could face disciplinary action, including censure or expulsion, depending on the severity and nature of the coercion. The House Ethics Manual emphasizes integrity, independence, and freedom from undue influence.

So while members can use procedural tools like Rule IX to compel votes on privileged matters (such as impeachment), doing so under threat or coercion violates both legal and ethical boundaries.

Doesn't Trump always struggle to communicate coherently? Guess that's what his fans think makes him so real. In Biden, of course, every little gaffe was a sign of dementia. And how about that little stroll around the room with the Japanese Prime Minister? Did Biden ever look any more lost? But I digress. Sadly, I think Americans must feel the pain of Trump's policies for there to be any hope of an awakening. It's a long shot, given the cult-induced separation from reason, but it might be the most effective weapon for exposing his malignancy. Complicit corporate CEOs should experience their due as well.

Well firing Employees and combined with loss of SNAP means they plan on starving us into submission. That explains all the tariffs on Food imports, and the border hostilities towards both our accessable neighbors where people could drive to get food before. It explains the destruction of Family Farms and Ranches. The Billionaires and Foreign Oligarchs are waiting with money to buy up all our homes, farms, water, electric power facilities, public lands and anything else we part with to survive the crisis they created. Notice how they are stopping checking for food quality while removing regulations so they can adulterate what you get legally. The Sumerians had to post laws against putting sawdust into flour. Teddy Roosevelt formed the FDA for the exact same reason. The Wealthy have never shown themselves to be trustworthy unfortunately. Which is why they shouldn't have control of the Government.
