The eight Dems that voted with the Reps are Reps themselves and should be tarred and feathered and rode out of DC on a rail. They basically destroyed the advantage the Dems had Nov 4th.
If Democrats had caved before the shutdown, they would have been criticized for being weak and always caving, they held their ground until it was crystal clear the Republicans were more than content to let this shutdown go on indefinitely. They seemed to love it, they could build up lies about what democrats were even asking for, it bought them more time on the Epstein files that still haven’t gone away and they got to cause as much chaos as possible. They took a gamble, and I know David isn’t a gambling man but you got to know when to fold ‘em. Republicans were going to make this shutdown as miserable as possible for the American people. I can sit here, still getting a regular paycheck and not relying on SNAP benefits shaking my fists in the air screaming, NOOOO!! you almost had them! Truth is they didn’t, Democrats hold 0 cards right now. Republicans sent money where they wanted it sent and withheld from the ones they wanted to use as pawns.
