New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani recently met with Donald Trump in DC, and the encounter was surprisingly cordial given their stark ideological differences. Reporters pressed Mamdani on calling Trump a fascist and on his socialist views, producing some awkward but revealing moments. Trump seemed genuinely impressed, praising Mamdani and saying he would feel comfortable living in New York under his leadership.
Marjorie Taylor Greene announced she will resign from Congress on January 5, 2026, citing frustration with Washington and a desire to focus on her personal life. Her departure triggers a special election, temporarily weakening the narrow Republican House majority. Trump responded in his typical mixed way, noting her diminished influence and prior conflicts.
Trump quietly shut down DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency, after it failed to deliver on promised reductions in waste, fraud, and bureaucracy. Heavily promoted with Elon Musk, DOGE never produced measurable results. Many of its employees were reassigned or lost their jobs, and what was meant to be a hallmark achievement of his administration instead became a public embarrassment.
Donald Trump experienced an intense collapse on Truth Social, posting obsessively overnight with conspiracy claims, attacks on political opponents like Marjorie Taylor Greene, and exaggerated boasts about his achievements.
A concerning video of Trump struggling to walk outside the White House has led clinical psychologist Dr. John Gartner to warn of severe cognitive decline. Gartner cites unstable gait, memory gaps, disoriented speech, phonemic paraphasias, tangential sentences, and diminishing vocabulary. He predicts Trump may not remain mentally competent by the end of his term.
Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins continues to misrepresent economic realities, especially regarding farmers and tariffs, downplaying that lost soybean sales to China stem from Trump’s policies. On CNBC, she exaggerated economic indicators, claiming inflation, food prices, jobs, mortgage rates, and wages were all improving, when in reality most were stable or misrepresented.
The administration’s economic messaging amounts to gaslighting, telling Americans everything is “awesome” while ignoring clear stress on households. Officials like Howard Lutnick and Rollins defend tariffs, while dismissing negative consequences like higher prices, distorted supply chains, and lost market share.
Finally, Elon Musk’s “About This Account” feature on X exposed that many prominent MAGA influencer accounts are operated from outside the U.S., including Macedonia, India, Eastern Europe, and Africa. This confirms long-standing warnings about foreign influence campaigns.
