Today, November 4, 2025, could be a major setback for Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. Key elections across the country are signaling a strong rebuke of Trump-aligned politics. Democrat Zohran Mamdani is poised to win the New York City mayoral race. Abigail Spanberger is leading in Virginia, and Navy veteran Mikie Sherrill is ahead in New Jersey. In California, Proposition 50, aimed at countering Republican redistricting, is polling strongly in favor. These results reflect voter dissatisfaction with Trump’s presidency and his influence on GOP candidates.
Donald Trump has escalated attacks on New York City ahead of the mayoral election, threatening to withhold federal funding if Mamdani wins. On Truth Social, he labeled Mamdani a “communist” and claimed the city would face disaster under his leadership. Trump insisted only a Democrat with a proven record could prevent collapse. Despite his threats, Mamdani remains likely to win.
The freeze and reduction in SNAP benefits is causing real hardship for millions. Examples include a 60-year-old single father caring for his adult son with special needs who must find extra work to make up lost benefits. Seniors in Georgia stretch $23 a month to survive, and others face choices between food and gas. These stories show people trying to survive, not abusing government aid.
Last year, Trump sued CBS for $20 billion, claiming they edited Kamala Harris’s interview to make her look better. Now, CBS has done the same for Trump, cutting controversial statements from his 60 Minutes interview while including some only online. Cuts removed his bragging about payouts, confusing remarks, and comments on pardons.
When hundreds of classified documents were found at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, DOJ officials said anyone else would have been arrested immediately. Documents were found in bathrooms and showers, and Trump resisted returning them, calling the investigation a “witch hunt.”
New polling shows 61% of voters believe Trump has made the economy worse. Approval among independents has dropped 15 points, with steep declines among younger voters, people of color, non-college graduates, and those earning under $50,000.
Donald Trump’s right eye has become a recurring concern, often appearing nearly swollen shut. Drudge Report recently highlighted it during a 60 Minutes interview, marking rare recognition in broader media. Questions about his health continue, especially given his past demands for cognitive tests and boasts about passing dementia screenings.
Finally, Aaron Parnas, lawyer-turned-TikTok creator and Substack writer, joins David for a Substack Live to discuss Election Day 2025.
