Trump Threatens More Riots at Dangerous Unhinged Rally
Donald Trump’s rallies have been getting more and more dangerous as time goes on as the former president continues down his authoritarian slide. At one point, Trump threatened revenge against federal prosecutors who are pursuing charges against those who went inside the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. He said, “if these radical, viscous, racist prosecutors do anything wrong or illegal, I hope we are going to have in this country the biggest protests we have ever had in Washington DC, in New York, in Atlanta, and elsewhere because our country and our elections are corrupt.” Trump went on to say he would consider pardoning the January 6th rioters who are supposedly being treated “unfairly,” which is interesting because he had a chance to do this in his final two weeks in office but chose not to. The American right wing has come a long way from claiming it was actually Antifa members in disguise who were rioting on January 6th. Now Trump and those who follow his lead are perfectly fine saying they were responsible for it and are even hinting that they’d be willing to do it again.
Anti-Vax Cop Who Quit Over Vaccine Dead of COVID
A former Washington State police officer named Robert LaMay who quit his job over a vaccine mandate has now died of COVID-19 at the age of 51. LaMay told Governor Jay Inslee “kiss my ass” over the requirement that caused him to lose his job after 22 years on the force. Back in October, LaMay went on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show to talk about the decision that cost him his job. He said, “I’m the spokesperson for thousands and thousands — I even say millions of people. . . . I think this is my path right now.” As it turns out, the decision to not get vaccinated likely cost him not just his job but his life as well. Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste sent out a statement saying, “I am deeply saddened over the news that our former friend and colleague Trooper Robert LaMay has passed away. This agency’s prayers and remembrances are with his family and loved ones.” This is certainly a tragic story, but sadly a predictable one as it’s happened to countless other people around the country who also refused the COVID vaccine.
From over the weekend:
Ron DeSantis STILL Won't Admit He Got Booster
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has played coy for months now about whether he got the COVID booster shot. Even Donald Trump has admitted to taking the third shot and has called out DeSantis indirectly for being unwilling to say that he’s taken it. But DeSantis is doubling down on avoiding the question as was witnessed when he was on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo. The Fox host asked him, “have you gotten the booster?” DeSantis stumbled for a few seconds and said, “so, I’ve done whatever I did, the normal shot, and that at the end of the day is people’s individual’s decisions about what they want to do.” Of course, this is true and at least DeSantis did say that he got the initial shots. However, he certainly did not answer Maria’s question about whether he got the booster. The Florida governor recognizes that a huge swath of his fanbase are anti-vaxxers and he would run the risk of turning them against him if he indeed admitted to getting the third dose of the vaccine.
From over the weekend:
Only the COVID Vaccine Violates Religion?
Tucker Carlson had fighter pilot and Marine Corps Lt. Col. Scott Duncan on his program last week to talk about his effort to file a religious exemption to the military’s COVID vaccine mandate. Duncan said that it was important for the armed forces to conduct a cost/benefit analysis as to the risk of losing experienced servicemembers who object to the vaccine if indeed the requirement is allowed to stand up. He said, “we do disagree with the pedigree and the technology maturation over time. That’s one issue. The other is just a conviction from the Holy Spirit and I believe we are led in that fashion.” What makes zero sense about this argument is that members of the military are already required to take a number of other vaccines, including for anthrax, small pox, flu, typhoid, yellow fever, and so many other diseases. If those other immunizations supposedly didn’t violate Duncan’s religion, he has no reasonable case to assert that the COVID vaccine does.
