Millions said "No Kings." The White House replied with crowns and feces.
Turnout was massive. Coverage was timid. Here is what happened and why independent media has to say it plainly.
Before we get into it: if you’re receiving this post via email, thank you. You’re already subscribed. If you’re not, now is the time.
This past Saturday, October 18th, millions of people across the country turned out for the second No Kings day of protest. The marches stretched from coast to coast and from big cities to small towns. The mood was peaceful and loud. The goal was simple: defend democracy.
And how did the president and his team respond? Not with policy. Not with humility. With AI memes.
One of them shows “King Trump” piloting a fighter jet and dumping feces (yes, poop) on protesters below. Another has Trump donning a crown while Democratic leaders are presented as literal supplicants. The official White House account even amplified the royal bit by posting imagery of Trump and Vance on thrones with crowns stacked over a racist gag of Democratic leaders in sombreros with the caption, “We’re built different. Have a good night, everyone. 👑”
This is the presidency using official government channels and the bully pulpit to normalize harassment and dehumanization, “as a joke.” It’s not a joke; it’s propaganda dressed up as punchline. It’s childish behavior from a president who cannot handle dissent and an administration that would rather troll than govern.
What happened (with receipts)
Example 1: “King Trump” jet video
Trump posted an AI clip on Truth Social showing himself flying a military jet labeled KING TRUMP. In the video, he dumps feces onto protesters. The message is not subtle. Dissenters are targets.
Example 2: Crown‑and‑bow AI
Another AI piece shows Trump putting on a crown while Democrats bow. The point is not comedy. It is conditioning. The strongman demands submission.
Example 3: The official White House post
When the official account pushes monarch cosplay and racialized taunts, it is not “just online.” It is the normalization of the abnormal, and it comes from the most powerful platform in American government.
Why most TV news will treat this like a meme, and why that is a problem
Imagine any other president posting videos that depict opponents being defiled from the sky. Imagine a White House account churning out race‑coded taunts. That story would fill every cable panel. In 2025, much of the press files it under “internet bits” and moves on. When outrage is the business model, cruelty becomes content. Accountability becomes optional.
If this is the response to millions of peaceful protesters, imagine the reaction to a real constraint on presidential power court loss—a court loss, an election they don’t like, or a strike that actually wins. These memes are rehearsal.
Why independent media matters
Independent outlets like The David Pakman Show don’t need permission from a network executive or a shareholder vote to call this what it is. We aren’t chasing palace access; we’re chasing the truth. And when the story is powerful people ridiculing citizens for using their rights, we’re going to say so—clearly, repeatedly, and with the receipts.

They can flood the feeds with crowns and thrones. But they can’t cancel what they don’t control.
Let’s keep building.
