Monster Trump Declares Himself Christian Savior in Deranged Interview
Donald Trump was interviewed on the Christian Broadcasting Network this week, where he declared that he’s a savior. The former president said, “nobody has done more for Christianity, nobody has done more for religion of all types than me. . . . I’ve always said it. They are against organized religion. They are against Christianity.” Of course, the left is not against Christianity and religion. What progressives are against is religious beliefs being brought into politics and violating the principle of separation between church and state. Trump in the interview went on to talk about his endorsement record so far this election season and Disney being against Florida’s Don’t Say Gay bill. This was yet another strange interview featuring Donald Trump, especially since he had to make an effort to pretend that he’s religious.
Biden: "MAGA Crowd" is "Most Extreme" Political Group in US History
Joe Biden is under fire because he said the MAGA movement is the most extreme political group in modern American history. The president was speaking about the expectation that the Supreme Court will strike down Roe vs. Wade and the damage that it’d do. Biden said, “what are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history — in recent American history.” President Biden really doesn’t deserve any blowback over this statement because it’s an accurate one. Certainly there are groups of people who are more outright racist and xenophobic like the KKK for example. But even at their peak, the KKK’s membership numbers were dwarfed by the tens of millions of people who are currently radical Trump supporters. Perhaps we need to go all the way back to the Confederacy to come up with a movement that has been so damaging to the United States and its institutions.
From yesterday’s show:
They're Pretending SCOTUS Leak Is Worse Than Trump Coup
Rather than celebrate the biggest win for social conservatives in decades, the right wing has chosen to act like the early news of the Supreme Court being ready to strike down Roe vs. Wade is a travesty because it was leaked. Texas Senator Ted Cruz said about this, “I have to say it is utterly stunning that anyone at the court would leak a draft opinion. . . . This is the most egregious breach of trust that has ever happened. Presumably some left-wing law clerk angry at the direction the court is going decided to betray his or her obligation, the trust that clerk owed to his or her justice and to the court.” The word “presumably” in that statement is really doing some heavy lifting because it’s unclear as of now who leaked the opinion and what their political leanings are. Right-wing TV personality Jillian Anderson tweeted about this, “leaking a Supreme Court opinion is far worse than anything that happened on Jan 6th.” Conservatives are united on this idea that the leak was the worst thing to have ever happened and many are spending more time talking about the leak than the actual Supreme Court draft opinion.
From yesterday’s show:
They're Coming for Gay Marriage, Interracial Marriage, and More
The leaked draft opinion that the Supreme Court is expected to strike down Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood vs. Casey has many on the left and center worried about what this could mean for gay marriage, civil rights, contraceptive rights, interracial marriage, and other issues. Some on the right are saying that it won’t change anything because Justice Samuel Alito wrote in his draft opinion that this decision has to do with abortion alone. However, there’s nothing stopping a red state from passing a law that bans gay marriage, for example, with the intention of having it challenged and sent up to SCOTUS. With their 6-3 conservative majority, it’s quite possible that the justices could take another look at Obergefell vs. Hodges and argue the ruling from 2015 was incorrect and has to be overturned. For as long as the balance of the court is tilted so heavily in the conservative direction, no right or established position is safe.
