Joe Biden Approval AGAIN Hits Record Low
Joe Biden’s approval rating has hit another presidency low. According to the FiveThirtyEight average, Biden’s approval currently sits at 37.4% with 57.2% disapproving. This is a major flip from the mid-50s approval ratings he enjoyed in the first few months of his presidency. Certain economic indicators like inflation and high gas prices likely are to blame for his low popularity, along with segments of the left being frustrated with his inability to get anything substantial passed through Congress in recent memory. These numbers will have to turn around soon if Democrats want a fighting chance of holding onto the House and Senate in the midterm races and if Biden still wants the option of running for a second term in 2024.
Fox Guest: Biden Got COVID for Pretending to Have Cancer
A Fox News contributor made the case yesterday that Joe Biden got COVID because he pretended to have cancer. Joey Jones said, “I think when you’re pretending to have cancer one day and you’ve got COVID the next, you might want to recalibrate how you treat things and how you talk.” This analysis is idiotic for a number of reasons, the main one being that Biden didn’t claim to have cancer. He misspoke and said “has” instead of “had” when describing the non-melanoma skin cancer he fought years ago. He was not trying to garner sympathy or pretend that he currently has the disease. Secondly, given what we know about the incubation period for COVID, Biden almost certainly was positive for the virus at the time he made those remarks. Jones’s “karma” argument easily falls apart on a number of fronts and he should have thought carefully before making it.

Actual News Show Indistinguishable from Satire Film "Don't Look Up"
A news segment took place on British television this week that was eerily similar to the movie “Don’t Look Up” starring Leonardo DiCaprio. In the movie, the characters are on a talk show desperately trying to tell the audience that the “entire planet is about to be destroyed,” and the hosts emphasize they want to “keep the bad news light.” Compare that to what happened on GBN this week, which is that a meteorologist warned about temperatures soon reaching 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in the United Kingdom. He said, “I think there will be hundreds if not thousands of excess deaths early next week.” The host tried cutting him off and saying “I want us to be happy about the weather” and criticized the meteorologist for being fatalistic. This type of attitude towards extreme weather events is precisely why we’re unable as a society to move in an actionable way to mitigate the causes of climate change.
From yesterday’s show:
Both Sides Prove They're Dumb on Fox News
A mind-numbing conversation about gas prices took place on Fox News this week between host Bret Baier and former New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. The two pointed the finger at each other and played the same game that the two sides often play when having this debate. Baier said to Landrieu, “you’re giving the credit to Joe Biden for the gas prices going down, but when they went up it was Vladimir Putin and the Ukraine war.” Landrieu retorted, “well you can say it another way. When it went up, you guys accused him for making it happen and when it went down you forgot to give him credit for it.” This type of exchange gets us nowhere and is exactly why politics can often be so toxic. The big picture is that presidents have very little to do with the price of gas and that’s as true for Joe Biden and Barack Obama as it was for Donald Trump and George W. Bush.
