Visibly Scared Trump FLIPS OUT Over Special Counsel
Late last week, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that a special counsel would be taking over to investigate possible federal crimes committed by failed former President Donald Trump. Trump spoke at a gala and tried making the case that because he was acquitted by the Senate in his second impeachment trial, charging him over January 6th would be double jeopardy. He said, “they tried it in the Senate, they went through the whole process and we won. We went through the whole process . . . then you take a look at the other, we went through two of them. And isn’t this sort of this like double jeopardy? In the old days, they used to call it double jeopardy.” Of course, an impeachment trial is a political process and what Trump is being investigated for now is in the criminal realm. Also, the double jeopardy rule doesn’t protect a person from being prosecuted for a different crime. Trump is clearly scared and realizing that his presidential announcement isn’t going to shield him from possible charges like maybe he anticipated.
Kari Lake Will "Fight" What Happened (She Lost)
Kari Lake lost her bid to become the next Governor of Arizona with the election results getting announced last week and Katie Hobbs coming out on top. This led to Lake traveling to Mar-a-Lago to complain about the election and promise that she was going to fight on. Kari spoke to the crowd and said, “they had to do everything they could to stop us — ballot harvesting, they had to shut down the machines on Election Day, but we know their tricks.” Of course, what Lake is describing is that people voted against her and that’s what she wanted to put a stop to. There certainly were Election Day issues in Maricopa County, but that’s all the more reason why Republicans were foolish to tell their supporters not to vote early or by mail. Luckily, Lake’s attempt to overthrow the result in Arizona isn’t getting a lot of attention and it has essentially no chance of working out for her.
From over the weekend:
Is Fox News Truly TURNING on Trump?
Fox News is going in the direction of full-on turning against Donald Trump. There have been signs of this trend all year, with the Murdochs refusing to have him on their network aside from extraordinary circumstances like when Mar-a-Lago was searched by the FBI. Fox even cut away during the former president’s announcement speech last week. In another sign that the right-wing network is done with him, Stuart Varney interviewed Lara Trump on Fox Business and he said, “those of us on the outside looking at it, it didn’t seem like he had the old magic.” This could be Varney’s genuine view, but it could also be part of a narrative pushed by the network to show how Trump is old news and that the excitement in the party now belongs to someone else.
From over the weekend:
Tucker Carlson Conspiracy ALMOST Too Insane for Kari Lake
Tucker Carlson pushed a conspiracy theory on his Fox News show about the 2022 Arizona gubernatorial election that was almost too crazy for Kari Lake. Lake ultimately lost her race by a narrow margin to Katie Hobbs but she appeared for the interview before her race was called. Tucker implied that Hobbs, as the sitting Secretary of State in Arizona, fixed the election results in her favor. He said, “some are smirking online that of course, she was very confident in her victory.” Carlson insisted he was only asking the question because “I’ve read fifty people say that.” Lake responded, “you’re trying to say something that may get me in trouble,” pretending for a second that she was unwilling to go along with the idea. Of course, ultimately she did because no conspiracy theory is too crazy for Kari Lake, especially when it makes her look good.

When DeSantis wins the Republican nomination, you can be sure that Trump will demand a recount. And then a second recount...and on and on...
This is REALLY about a sponsor.
I have been using recycled toilet paper. But I am interested in the Reel Paper company.
Also, the Scottish ‘title’ company.
I know that they plant trees.
But all trees are NOT created equal.
Do you know if these companies are actually planting deciduous trees or conifers?
I ask because the old growth was mostly broadleaf. These are the species that efficiently clean the air and make oxygen.
I live in Georgia, US. Here they call the conifer ‘pulpwood’. Every 15 years or so they are tall enough to harvest.
Those tracts are replanted, but it’s ALL needle foliage. That is an important detail.
While the last tracts are regrowing, new tracts are bought and harvested.
I would LOVE to be sure that the trees that are planted are the species of tree that we had before.
