Kari Lake interview goes horribly wrong, Piers Morgan destroys her
Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake continues to argue that she was the legitimate winner of her election and lost only due to widespread voter fraud. Lake went on Piers Morgan’s show to complain about her situation, and it did not go well for her. Morgan pointed out that there is no independent corroboration of any fraudulent activity, and that she lost fair and square 50.3% to 49.6%. Despite this, Lake claims that there is a mountain of hard evidence, but Piers argues that when presented to a judge, there was no merit to the complaints. Morgan said during the exchange, “there does come a point when for the future of democracy, you and Donald Trump have to accept at some point you lost an election. Otherwise, the entire system collapses. If your simple response to losing is always ‘we didn't lose, we won.’ Then democracy dies.” It appears obvious by now that Lake is lying and grifting, because her claims of irregularities and cheating are totally baseless.
Right wingers LOSE THEIR MINDS over train derailment
The cause of the recent train derailment in Ohio is still unclear, but many on the right have been quick to blame woke culture and racism. The NTSB report indicates that the derailment was caused by a malfunction with a wheel bearing that overheated, and it's not yet clear what caused this to happen. There are also concerns about chemicals in the area and their impact on water quality. However, right-wing personalities Greg Gutfeld and Charlie Kirk claimed that the derailment was part of the war on white people and a distraction from real issues. Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene has blamed Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, claiming that he is more interested in equity and inclusion in his hiring practices than in rail safety. The derailment has become another issue that has become politicized and used as a platform to support preexisting ideologies.
From yesterday’s show:
Triggered Trump throws historic tantrum about Ron DeSantis on Truth Social
Donald Trump continues to ignore Nikki Haley, who announced her intention to run for president this week. However, he keeps attacking Ron DeSantis, who hasn’t even announced whether he’s running. Trump responded to claims that he spends his time coming up with mean nicknames to make fun of Ron DeSantis, writing on Truth Social that “ “All of the Fake News is reporting that I spend large amounts of my time coming up with a good ‘nickname’ for Ron DeSanctimonious, who is obviously going to give the presidential ‘thing’ a shot. They are all 100% wrong, I don’t even think about it — A very unimportant subject to me!!!” Trump went on to post that he’s not worried about Republican primary polling, clearly alluding to the fact that DeSantis is beating him by 13 points in a recent Monmouth University poll. But it’s rather obvious that DeSantis is living inside Trump’s head, as he sees the Florida governor as a serious threat to his 2024 presidential campaign.
From yesterday’s show:
Nikki Haley announces presidential run against Trump, polling 3%
Nikki Haley, former South Carolina governor and former Ambassador to the United Nations under Donald Trump, has announced her intention to run for president in the 2024 Republican primary. In a three-minute video, Haley highlights elements of her biography, emphasizing her Indian heritage and playing up racial diversity. She argues that the Washington establishment has failed and that it is time for a new generation of leadership to rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure borders, and strengthen the country. Ultimately, Haley's message is a standard, generic right-wing talking point with the additional message that she is younger, female, and Indian. A new poll by Morning Consult, taken before Haley's announcement, puts her at 3% in the Republican primary race, well behind Donald Trump at 47% and Ron DeSantis at 31%.
