Last night’s New York City mayoral debate featured Zoran Mamdani positioning himself as a clear alternative to Andrew Cuomo, highlighting Cuomo’s controversies, including sexual harassment allegations and perceived failures as governor. Mamdani came across as prepared, articulate, and likable, while Cuomo struggled to defend his record, relying on legal technicalities and awkward humor.
Canada is signaling a major shift away from the United States under Trump’s presidency. During a speech, Prime Minister Mark Carney emphasized prioritizing domestic investment in defense, industry, and technology. Decades of economic integration through trade agreements fueled Canadian growth, but Trump’s policies and tariffs made those ties vulnerable.
Donald Trump claimed he is a better president than Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. This outburst shows a deep detachment from reality and an obsession with personal validation. Rather than focusing on governing, Trump is consumed with his legacy and admiration. Years of insulation in a bubble of yes-men have reinforced these delusions.
Trump has also escalated his rhetoric toward California Governor Gavin Newsom while focusing on a $300 million White House renovation supposedly funded by donors. He lashed out at reporters, defended the cost, and boasted about its grandeur.
House Speaker Mike Johnson claims Republicans have a health care plan but will not share it until the government reopens. Despite promises dating back to 2020, the plan remains vague and mostly conceptual. Current Republican proposals would cut access and eliminate subsidies, leaving tens of millions without coverage.
Finally, Fox News host Jesse Watters praised Trump’s AI-generated video of himself dropping feces on protesters, calling it memetic genius. Meanwhile, small business owners and ordinary Americans struggle under tariffs, inflation, and instability, and some still cling to hope that Trump will fix these problems.
