Tyler Robinson, 22, has been charged with the murder of Charlie Kirk and faces the death penalty. Prosecutors allege Robinson targeted Kirk for his political beliefs, carried out the attack in front of children, and engaged in obstruction of justice and witness tampering, including hiding evidence and directing a roommate to delete texts. While some claim the attack reflects left-wing political violence, officials have not confirmed a specific ideological motive, and conspiracy theories about the case are circulating.
In Washington, FBI Director Kash Patel faced a tense Senate hearing marked by repeated clashes with Senators Adam Schiff and Cory Booker. Patel deflected questions about high-profile cases, including Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, while attacking the senators personally.
Meanwhile, U.S. grocery prices surged 0.6% in August, the largest monthly increase since 2022. Economists cite factors including global supply chains, natural disasters, and retailer pricing. Donald Trump had promised to lower grocery prices during his 2024 campaign, citing tariffs and other measures, but such promises have largely failed, leaving families facing higher costs.
A Department of Justice report showing that most domestic terrorism originates from far-right extremists, including white supremacists and militias, was removed from the DOJ website. The study confirmed that left-wing violence is comparatively rare. The deletion is an attempt to suppress inconvenient facts and a broader move to control public access to information about political violence.
On his way to the U.K., Trump told reporters his administration might target media outlets that treat him “unfairly,” framing criticism as potential hate speech. Legal experts warn this conflicts with First Amendment protections, which apply even to offensive or unpopular speech.
Trump’s arrival in the U.K. was met with protests, including projections linking him to Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew onto Windsor Castle. Polling shows Trump’s international approval is low, with 59% of Britons viewing him unfavorably, and Western Europe showing significant declines in favorability.
Finally, Trump continued his criticism of California Governor Gavin Newsom, falsely claiming he approved low-income housing in Pacific Palisades and mishandled water resources. Nearly all of Trump’s statements were inaccurate, reflecting a pattern of fear-based messaging about Democrats.
On today’s bonus show:
House Republicans are moving to punish Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for her comments on Charlie Kirk’s death. Elon Musk criticized streamer Destiny for suggesting that right-wing supporters should be afraid to go to political events. And the Federal Reserve is expected to announce a 0.25% rate cut.

All other Presidents only had a certain amount of effect upon the outcome of their presidency but not Trump. He does whatever the heck he wants and Repugnicans who have control now down and say “Yes your Highness! whatever you want your Highness .”while licking his boots. So yes Trump is to blame for everything happening in this country. He is in the top position and the buck stops with him!!
A cornerstone of the Trump play book is to deny and hide anything that disagrees with the narrative he's trying to sell. Remember, he openly admitted that he didn't want to do COVID testing because then there would be more cases. "Slow the testing down please." Keep COVID positive passengers on cruise ships so they would not be counted in his numbers. Destroy information-gathering satellites to keep that information hidden. Cut NOAA and NWS so they don't disseminate too much information. It's juvenile and absurd, but it gives him control over what Americans know, like making Sharpie adjustments to everything. It's tyrannical, dangerous and un-American.
