At 77 and 80 years-old, we have amassed a large portfolio of bonds and stocks. We are so angry about what the Republicans are allowing this madman and his criminal administration to do to our country. We are thinking of divesting and investing in International countries. If enough of the baby boomers do this, it will be worse than picking up a gun. Fair warning, I will email my Senators and Congressional Representative and see if I get any reaction from them.

I have nothing left to "divest" (did not during Trump 1.0), but I can join others in BOYCOTTS. Who is funding their campaigns? BOYCOTT! Who kowtowed and paid tributes to the orange oligarch? BOYCOTT! Who in Congress still supports him or REMAINS SILENT? Contribute to the opposing candidate; if he/she is your rep., let them know how you feel. One 10 people sit a table and one is a NAZI, but the other 9 say NOTHING, then there are TEN NAZIS at the able. Silence is complicity. If you can't take to the streets, at least put a sign in your yard or window.

Unfortunately, I have never had the aptitude to understand investments, taxes or legal jargon, (I am embarrassed to admit), but my 2 younger brothers & I inherited portfolios in 2022 after our Dad passed. Wish I was as smart & savvy as you, but what you are saying sounds brilliant. I know some of my stuff is with the evil giant BlackRock. Wonder what would happen to these big giant evil oligarchy companies if many Americans did just what you are saying. Love to see these billionaire oligarchs squirm. MAGA & these financial giants need the rugs pulled out from under them.

My dad was an accountant, we are born and raised NYC. He told me always save for a rainy day. My husband worked since 12, after school. I worked from 17. We both worked two full time and part time jobs for about 15 years. We were poor and wanted a house. We finally got to graduate from college, worked our way through. I studied finance. He is a C.P.A.

You sound awesome!! You and your husband are my late folks type, they'd have surely admired & liked you folks. Similar to my late Dad & Mum who did much like you and your husband. You have a handful of years on me (72 this month). NYC here since 1985, but very small town roots. Followed my muse & had career in music & arts. Although lucky to work pretty constantly in the biz, never made a ton of $$, and not easy to save much living in NYC. Never gave a thought about inheritance but my 2 younger bros & I were blessed our folks were successful and were generous with us. Dad was smart (and partly lucky) with his investments & having a great investment guy. Like you and your husband, Dad worked 3 jobs (post WWII & Korea went into Army Reserves...retired as Col.), teacher/principal, coach/athletic director and Mum held the fort on the home front (he could not have done it without her). They were a good team, not perfect by any means & ours not the American dream family dynamic, but would never change them or any of it. They owned 3 homes in succession (built 2 of them). I will always admire & cherish them and the memory of them. They left us in 2019 & 2022, (91 & 95) independent until last couple years of their lives but lucky to pass at home in their beds, miss them both desperately still. Thanks for hitting me back!

Washington has become a mass of quicksand for logic and humanity.

Some wacko who somehow got elected president blows up rowboats just for fun and admirals blindly obey, same pedo-nosoris invades a country, kills 70-80 people grabs their president and flies him to New York using the same plane he lent to some other muli billon dollar drug dealing pardoned president of a neighboring country and let that guy fly to who know where. 'Just fill up the gas tank when you're done". Now our embezzling, west wing recking, 400 million dollar ballroom building felon in a chaotic chain of thought is thinking of taking over or bombing (maybe both) a few countries that I visited several times in my 78 years.

What will lunch hour bring? A call to arms, by who for who? Thats the trillion dollar question?

I did go to boot camp almost five decades ago so I guess I could stand a little pain but I'd rather move to a small hole in the ground and stand in the rain then watch another ICE agent shoot another young lady four times from three feet away....What a brave scum bag that guy was,.....not much difference though from the navy guy who blew up the two guys hanging on to an already blown up rowboat.

So its thoughts of beans, dried or in cans, of where I might buy a second or third tank of gas, gun ownership and road maps...........roll around in my head.

and to all, a good night!

U.S. LIES to THE PEOPLE!! There are lies, damn lies, and outright dirty, filthy lies, as perpetrated by the [failed] president, on down. Regarding the reprehensible, cold-blooded murder of an innocent citizen at the hands of the ruthless, masked, and gun-toting goons, who gets to “investigate” this totally false narrative? The [partial (??!)] FBI, that’s who. And whose pocket are they in? The criminal, mentally-unstable, sick, bloated, unhinged, incredibly stupid, deranged, and deplorable personage of a Donald J Trump! The self-serving administration of bald-faced untruthers—LIARS(!!!) MUST ALL BE IMPEACHED for their outrageous, dangerous, murderous threat to the people of the United States of America, and THE WHOLE WORLD!! Call them out. Make a fuss. TELL THE TRUTH. (Were we not all told that as children?!) It’s your country, your lives, your choice. For the sake of the gods, be it known worldwide that the U.S. government is a criminal national and international terrorist organization! Your lives are at stake. RISE UP! PROTEST!!!

I heard trumps flunky say that trump considers all of the western hemisphere to be his, from Canada down to the bottom of South America. And that trump is going to fight for all of this land. Not to mention Greenland. I know that there is approximately 400 million Americans, but how many of them are willing or able to fight for trump? Certainly not the number needed to take over the Western Hemisphere. I know that trump wants Greenland real bad, but that will spread his troops pretty thin, maintaining order. I’m Canadian and I think that we’re next on his list, but the reason that he wants the northern countries is for Northern defence, to see which enemy comes over the North Pole first. For over 80 years Canada and the US have worked together in Northern defence, so if trump invades us it’s not for that reason.

After that ICE Gestapo criminal thug shot that woman in the face a physician announced to the members of Trump‘s Gestapo he was a physician and a response from one of those rectal cancer deserving neo Nazis shouted to the doctor, “We don’t care”.

It took 15 minutes for EMS to arrive. I can stay under the law that’s another crime that ICE committed by not allowing the doctor to render aid to the victim of ICE but the law doesn’t matter anymore.

This should never have happened, Trump should never have happened. Corporate should never exist. Billionaires should never exist.

One of the good things about the French Revolution and the Nuremberg trials and executions was the fact that a lot of really horrible people were killed. You’ve probably heard the saying that the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. That’s not just a saying it’s the truth. Science proved it. It called behavioral genetics.

Even the Bible speaks of it. It’s called predestination. God, is all knowing so God already knew what Donald Trump would do and what Hitler would do and what Stalin would do but he created them anyway knowing what they would do. Like Trump doesn’t give a rats ass about anything about himself and his insatiable ego which he wants us to go to heaven and massage it for all eternity.

Trump torments humanity for his pleasure and so does God.

Trump is busy losing his s***. He is scared spitless about being removed from office, because he knows the only thing keeping him out of jail is his being the POTUS.

Historically, he was always able to normalize his crimes, distract from his scandals, confuse and change the narrative by making a crisis, which he would later 'fix' by stopping what he had been doing. When people hear about a crime, then hear the 'other side' declare it is the accusers who are bad people, never have ti me to dive into the facts of the case, soon all the rest of the Republicans get in lock step with the favored talking points and soon nobody is talking about it because... another crisis, another crime, another obscenity of a policy / choice ... is consuming all the news media and nobody is talking about the old one.

Problem for Trump is that a number of his bad actions are piling up and not all are getting forgotten. He knows this, which is why he is panicking, causing the crisis and other bad 'things' to be coming too extreme, too frequently... He can not forever escalate without it eventually falling apart.

It is good to keep the pressure up, on multiple fronts: Epstein, Inflation / Tariffs, War, ICE (goons, murder, kidnapping, cruelty...) - these seem to be the ones that have some stickiness to them.

The Kennedy Center and the White house demolition may hit some people stronger, being very symbolic.

Just remember, Trump has already factored in that ALL Democrats are against him and any moderates that he conned into voting for him in 2024 have pretty much left him, so what he worries about most is the people in MAGA who are not happy with his choices. He assured them no new wars. He assured them lower cost of living. He assured them the release of the Epstein files and the prosecution of the elite pedophiles that have been central to the online conspiracy community for decades now.

At this stage, Trump is no longer getting any new converts. It is now a game of subtraction. Trump has never been good at math.
