Today is Thursday, September 4, 2025, and this is your news and preview of today's show.

At a press conference, victims of Jeffrey Epstein said that Epstein frequently boasted about his close relationship with Donald Trump, describing him as a very good friend. The victims spoke publicly on the record, saying that Epstein used his friendships with powerful figures as a way to bolster his influence.

In addition, a group of Epstein survivors announced that they will compile their own confidential list of individuals who were regularly present in Epstein’s circle. They said the effort is intended to provide clarity and transparency about who had connections to Epstein.

Reporters pressed Donald Trump on the release of the Epstein files, and he dismissed the questions as a Democrat hoax. Trump said that his administration has already turned over thousands of pages of documents and argued that it was sufficient. Survivors and their advocates dispute this, saying that critical files remain unreleased.

Meanwhile, California Governor Gavin Newsom has gained national attention for directly confronting Trump in speeches and on social media. Trump has responded by posting attacks and sharing AI-generated videos, highlighting the growing rivalry between the two figures.

In Florida, Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo compared vaccine mandates to slavery, saying that all vaccine requirements are wrong. Ladapo has previously questioned the safety of COVID-19 vaccines and altered a state report about their risks.

On the economy, the Labor Department reported that there are now more unemployed Americans than available jobs for the first time since 2021. Job openings fell to 7.18 million in July, below expectations. Economists cite slowing job creation and declining labor force participation as major concerns.

In Washington, Trump escalated his rhetoric against Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, who had called for more transparency about the Epstein files. Trump described Massie as an insurgent who should be taken out, raising concerns given Trump’s past use of combative language.

And in a rare break from party unity, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene urged Trump to meet directly with Epstein’s victims at the White House and voiced support for legislation to release all Epstein-related documents. She joins Republicans Thomas Massie and Nancy Mace in calling for full transparency.
