Trump FLIPS OUT on RIGHT-WING host: "I can do whatever I want"
Former President Donald Trump went on the Hugh Hewitt Show and claimed he could do whatever he wanted with the classified documents he had in his possession at Mar-a-Lago. The failed former president asserted he could act freely under the Presidential Records Act, a defense unlikely to succeed as this matter has to do with actions he took when he was no longer president. Trump told Hewistt he expects to testify in his defense, which his lawyers will no doubt not want him to do since Trump constantly lies and contradicts himself. Trump also revisited the Steele dossier, inaccurately claiming it was funded solely by Hillary Clinton and the DNC, when it involved a more complex funding history. Trump got so angry over the line of questioning that he took it out on Hugh Hewitt, claiming the radio host wanted to make a media spectacle out of the appearance. If Trump plans on maintaining this bravado and above-the-law attitude going into his trial, he can expect to be found guilty and maybe even sent to prison.
Fox interviews "swing voters," TOTAL DISASTER
In a recent Fox & Friends segment, a panel of swing state Republican voters expressed their views, highlighting significant differences in how they perceive politics compared to left-wing voters. They erroneously linked the absence of Biden-themed merchandise to his popularity, reflecting the right's tendency to equate merchandise visibility with political support, a viewpoint challenged by left-wing voters who prioritize policy over cult-like devotion. Additionally, they claimed Biden has shifted far left on issues like immigration and energy, despite factual data refuting these assertions. This segment underscored the deep polarization in American politics, with right-wing voters often relying on anecdotal evidence, misinformation, and personality contests, while left-wing voters tend to base their support on policy and critical analysis.
From yesterday’s show:
WOW: Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio gets 22 years in prison
Enrique Tarrio, former leader of the Proud Boys, has been handed a 22-year sentence, marking the lengthiest punishment yet among those linked to the January 6th Capitol riots. His conviction was related to seditious conspiracy in connection to his efforts to disrupt the certification of the 2020 presidential election. This is the longest sentence out of over 1,100 individuals charged in connection to the Capitol riot. Tarrio expressed remorse and disavowed previous statements before his sentencing, as have many of his co-defendants. The hope is that this severe sentence sends a strong deterrent message to potential agitators eyeing similar actions in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. The larger message is that such behavior, aimed at obstructing democracy, is not a viable course of action. The sentencing also raises questions about whether those who disavow their earlier actions to reduce their sentences can still be seen as martyrs or receive support from their communities.
From yesterday’s show:
Elon Musk desperate, blaming Jews for Twitter's failure
Elon Musk has shifted blame for Twitter's massive decline in value, accusing the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of defaming the platform and himself by alleging anti-Semitism and highlighting anti-Semitic content. He argues that this has scared off advertisers, resulting in a staggering $20 billion loss in Twitter's worth since his acquisition. The debate centers on whether Musk's pursuit of legal action against the ADL for defamation is compatible with his advocacy for free speech, as critics point to Twitter's growing acceptance of extremist content, including anti-Semitic rhetoric. The platform's transformation, once known as Twitter and now referred to as "X," has raised questions about its future and the complex interplay between free speech and defamation in the digital age. The more likely culprit for the decline in the valuation of Twitter is not the ADL, but rather Elon Musk himself, who keeps making one poor business decision after another.
