UH-OH: Trump confronted by Nigel Farage, "stop talking about rigged 2020"
Nigel Farage, a former member of the British UKIP party, hosted an interview with failed former President Donald Trump this week. During the exchange, Farage parroted the advice that many have been giving Trump, which is to stop talking about the supposed voter fraud in the 2020 election if he wants any shot at winning in 2024. Trump responded by saying, “Look, it was rigged. And I say that. I'll always say that. It doesn't mean that out of a one-hour speech, I'm going to devote half of it to this. I might devote ten seconds to it. But the election was rigged. It was a rigged election. It was a very dishonest election.” Later on in the interview, the pair discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with Trump saying if he were president again he’d have the war over in 24 hours, without elaborating on how he would achieve this. They also touched upon how President Biden will not be attending the coronation of King Charles III. Trump argued maybe it was because Biden would be unable to make the trip due to physical limitations, which makes zero sense because Biden is regularly traveling around the globe just like any other American president does.
Republicans accuse Biden of bribery, have ZERO evidence
Republican politicians and media figures have accused President Joe Biden of bribery in recent days without providing any evidence. Examples include Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, Fox News host Sean Hannity, and Senator Chuck Grassley. The accusations stem from an alleged whistleblower who claimed that there was a criminal scheme involving Biden and a foreign national. Grassley and Republican Representative James Colmer issued a subpoena for records that they believe may contain evidence of this scheme. However, the White House dismissed the claims as unfounded and motivated by political bias. There is currently no concrete evidence to support the accusations, and some Republican figures, such as Senator Josh Hawley, have admitted that they have not seen any evidence. Despite this, some Republican politicians like Greene are calling for Biden to be impeached. Of course, many of these right-wingers were calling for the president’s impeachment even before the current allegations and this is just the latest farfetched reason they’ve been able to come up with for justifying doing so.
From yesterday’s show:
Steven Crowder & right-wingers want to force women to stay married
Many right-wingers are calling for the end of modern divorce laws, known as no-fault divorce. This legal process allows either party to end a marriage without having to prove abuse, infidelity, or other misconduct. Republicans are now unsure if they want this law to remain, and Texas could be the first state to eliminate it if the state’s Republican Party gets its way. Last year, the Republican Party of Texas added language to its platform calling for an end to no-fault divorce. Opponents claim that the push is another way to control women. Many women benefit from no-fault divorce laws because they give them greater legal protections and more equitable outcomes in divorce proceedings. Some men’s rights activists claim that men routinely get screwed over when it comes to custody in divorce proceedings and that it's unfair. However, it's a different issue that can be discussed on its merits. Ending no-fault divorce is part of a broader Republican war on women, similar to the crusades against abortion and contraception that have ramped up in recent years.
From yesterday’s show:
CNN promoting Trump town hall as if he's a normal person
CNN will be hosting a town hall with former President Donald Trump on May 10th moderated by Kaitlan Collins. This is sparking controversy, with many expressing concerns that the network is treating him like a normal presidential candidate despite his coup attempt on January 6, 2021. The town hall will feature Trump taking questions from New Hampshire Republican primary voters. The event may contribute to the normalization of “wannabe fascist populism,” since it’s being hosted by CNN instead of a right-wing outlet like Fox News or Newsmax. It’s entirely possible that CNN will be able to conduct the town hall ethically and offer pushback where it’s needed, but it could also end up being a fluff piece for the former president. Overall, opinions on the town hall are divided, with some seeing it as an important opportunity for Trump to answer tough questions and others expressing concern about the normalization of his extremism.

With all the mud-slinging, Marjorie Taylor Greene should be investigated herself. I'm sure she has plenty of skeletons in her closet. Republicans have long been hypocrites when it comes to exposing others for misdeeds. For example, in the 90s, when Bill Clinton was being indicted, the person screaming the loudest about marital infidelity was none other Newt Gingrich who was (himself) having an affair with another woman, while his wife was dying of cancer. And then there was something going on with Bob Dole... See the pattern? Hypocrisy at its finest.
