Two Republican senators are now openly blocking Donald Trump’s Federal Reserve nominees, and this is not symbolic. Thom Tillis, who controls the Senate Banking Committee, and Lisa Murkowski are freezing nominations in response to what they call a coercive Justice Department probe of Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Even right-wing policy groups warn this could stop Trump from seating any Fed nominees, and Powell hiring an aggressive law firm signals he is not backing down.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that Elon Musk’s Grok AI will be integrated into Pentagon systems while delivering another culture war speech attacking DEI, climate policy, and “dudes in dresses.” This was sold as restoring a warrior ethos, even as Trump pushes a massive military budget hike that does nothing for struggling families.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt defended the killing of 37-year-old Renee Good by falsely calling her a deranged lunatic and claiming video evidence shows she struck an ICE officer. That claim is not supported by the footage. Leavitt insisted the shooting was justified, blamed Democrats and the media, and escalated the rhetoric by invoking domestic terrorism.
In a later scrum, Leavitt doubled down, declaring unwavering support for ICE while dismissing concerns about civil liberties. She praised Kristi Noem amid impeachment rumors, floated US acquisition of Greenland, and confirmed airstrikes on Iran remain an option.
Attention has also turned to Trump’s physical behavior, shifting from his long noted loud sniffing to repeated slurping during speeches. Medical professionals have suggested possible explanations, including loss of a passive swallow reflex associated with neurological issues. With no transparency from Trump’s team, speculation continues and public concern grows.
Trump unleashed a series of overnight social media posts attacking the Supreme Court over tariffs, declaring new tariffs via Truth Social, misrepresenting New York’s congestion pricing, spreading false claims about utilities and AI, and threatening Minnesota with retribution.
Democrats are now moving forward with impeachment efforts against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem following the killing of Renee Good. Lawmakers accuse Noem of abusing power, obstructing oversight, and violating constitutional rights by labeling a US citizen a domestic terrorist before the facts were known.
Finally, Janet Mills, Governor of Maine, joins us to discuss her campaign for the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate.

Caroline Leavitt is going to make one pathetic mother. She can lie with a straight face.. glad I’m not a so-called Christian!
