DOJ Notified: Trump Tried Tampering with Riot Committee Witness
During another day of the January 6th hearings, Vice Chair Liz Cheney announced that Donald Trump recently attempted to intimidate an unidentified witness and that the matter has been referred to the Department of Justice. Cheney said, “President Trump tried to call a witness in our investigation, a witness you have not yet seen in these hearings. That person declined to answer or respond to President Trump’s call and instead alerted their lawyer to the call. Their lawyer alerted us and this committee has supplied that information to the Department of Justice.” The question becomes whether Trump left a voicemail that can actually become hard evidence of witness tampering, or if the record simply shows a missed call. In any event, the average person would likely be prosecuted for such an attempt to impede an investigation but Trump has gotten away with so much, he’ll continue to do things like this until he finally faces consequences.
Trump EXPLODES, Spends Afternoon Attacking Elon Musk
Donald Trump spent yesterday attacking Elon Musk after Musk said earlier in the week that it’s time for the Republican Party to move away from Trump. Musk said on Monday, “I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset. Dems should also call off the attack – don’t make it so that Trump’s only way to survive is to regain the Presidency.” This prompted Trump to post several posts to Truth Social saying things like, “When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidized projects, whether it’s electric cars that don’t drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he’d be worthless, and telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, ‘drop to your knees and beg,’ and he would have done it.” Trump is incredibly petty and can’t let even the mildest of criticisms go, so this probably won’t be the end of the feud between these two men now that their friendly relationship has come to an end.
From yesterday’s show:
SHOCK POLL: HALF of Republicans Ready to Abandon Trump
A new poll from The New York Times and Siena College shows that nearly half of Republican voters are ready to abandon Donald Trump for the 2024 presidential race. Trump has especially lost support among Republican voters under 35, 64% of whom want someone different, and college-educated Republicans who are ready to leave Trump at a rate of 65%. The reasons cited for the trend are the damaging January 6th hearings along with the desire for new faces to lead the party like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Trump must be absolutely furious with these poll results as he expects a clear path to the Republican nomination if he chooses to run again in 2024. All signs are now pointing to him not getting that and DeSantis giving him a run for his money for control of the party.
From yesterday’s show:
BEYOND PARODY: Fox Says Lower Gas Prices Now Threaten Gas Stations
In a completely beyond parody Fox News segment, The “America Reports” program ran a story about how declining energy prices are bad for locally-owned gas stations. Fox hammered Joe Biden as gas prices were on their way up to a peak of about $5.02 a gallon last month. Now that prices have been declining for the past few weeks and now sit at a AAA national average of $4.63, all of a sudden Fox is criticizing Biden for the downtrend. Fox anchor Sandra Smith said, “it just goes to show you the incredible risk/reward calculation has to happen on the part of those small, independently owned — most of them, mom and pop gas stations. It’s a struggle for all of them.” This segment demonstrates that Fox will find a reason to criticize Joe Biden for anything and adding an extra layer of absurdity to it all is that presidents have very little to do with the price of gas in the first place.

It occurs to me that even if the Committee determines that Trump will be ineligible to run in 2024 [because of his shenanigans], he will do so anyway, screaming to everyone: "Screw the Democrats AND the Committee! I have a constitutional right to run for election. And nobody can stop me!" Sadly, he might even win.
