Guy who shot Trump had Trump signs on his lawn
The investigation into the attempted assassination of Donald Trump by Thomas Crooks continues with no clear motive established. Crooks, a registered Republican from a pro-gun libertarian household where Trump signs were displayed, was neutralized after firing at Trump, leaving no manifesto or note to explain his actions. Speculation suggests the attack may not have been politically motivated but could stem from personal distress or a quest for attention, consistent with patterns seen in similar cases of young male shooters. Alternatively, there's conjecture that Crooks might have been influenced by fringe elements critical of Trump's departure from stringent right-wing ideals, as articulated by figures like Alex Jones and Nick Fuentes. Despite early assertions blaming left-wing influences, no evidence supports this claim. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the true motive behind Crooks' actions, offering essential context to the incident.
Trump picks a VP who hates him
The first day of the Republican National Convention (RNC) was notable for its lack of inspiration, characterized by a series of unremarkable speeches. One significant moment was Donald Trump's appearance with a bandaged ear after getting shot at a rally on Saturday. The major announcement was Trump's selection of Senator J.D. Vance as his vice-presidential running mate. Vance, a Yale Law School graduate and author of the bestseller "Hillbilly Elegy," was previously critical of Trump, calling him "noxious" and "reprehensible" and even considering supporting Hillary Clinton in 2016. Despite these past comments, Vance now aligns himself closely with Trump, which appears to be a strategic move for both parties. Critics argue that Vance's shift in loyalty is opportunistic, aiming to secure a prominent political position. While Vance's addition might please some party insiders, it is unclear if he will significantly impact Trump's voter base.
From yesterday’s show:
Guess who they're blaming for Trump getting shot
Following the assassination attempt of Donald Trump, Republican figures like Congressman Mike Collins and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene are blaming Democrats and the media, accusing them of inciting violence against Trump. Greene claimed that years of demonizing Trump and his supporters led to the assassination attempt, and called for further action against Democrats. Senator Ron Johnson attributed the nation's division to identity politics and critical race theory, arguing these are used to divide Americans for political gain. Congressman Tim Burchett blamed diversity initiatives, suggesting a female Secret Service director was inadequately prepared, which allowed the shooting to occur. Trump’s running mate JD Vance claimed the rhetoric from Biden's campaign, portraying Trump as an authoritarian, directly led to the attempted assassination. The discussion highlights a pattern of Republicans deflecting responsibility, perpetuating violent rhetoric, and ignoring their role in fostering a culture of political violence.
From yesterday’s show:
Many declare "IT'S OVER," Biden DONE after Trump shooting
Many are declaring it's over for Joe Biden following the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump, which has been framed by some as bolstering Trump's image as a victim and a martyr. Trump's supporters highlight his resilience, emphasizing the image of him holding his fist in the air with a bleeding ear and then playing golf the next day. The close call—if the bullet had been an inch over, Trump would have been dead—has become a focal point. The incident seems to benefit Trump by rallying his base and those on the periphery who may have been undecided or leaning away from him, compelling them to support Trump as a stand against the perceived hatred directed at him. However, this event also reinforces the chaos that follows Trump, with ongoing legal issues and violent incidents contributing to an unstable image. Conversely, some argue that a Republican attempting to assassinate Trump highlights the dysfunction within the Republican Party, potentially dissuading voters from supporting him. While the shooting has garnered sympathy, it doesn't necessarily translate to increased political support.

I’ve just got to call out the obvious…Did anybody else notice that Trump told the Secret Service to wait for pics after he got his ear pierced Saturday. The GOP needed something like an assination attempt to make President Biden look bad, and to continue to convince his cult to give him all of their money and for trump to avoid prison, but he’s not at all desperate enough to pay for that to happen for him right after he started blaming President Biden and the FBI for assination attempts…what are the odds!!???!!…speaking of Traitor, why aren’t we calling the Maralago documents case the “ESPIONAGE CASE”… it’s what it is and what makes me tremble at the obvious signs of trump having already sold secrets from those documents!! HE SHOULD BE IN PRISON NOW @ GITMO!! Seriously!! He is an obvious traitor and so are the most of the GOP! What are we doing acting like trump should have free access to voters with no trial!!??!! Come on!! We’re on the verge of the right starting Civil/World war and nobody is watching, planning, talking about, or doing anything about saving our democracy!! Donations are NOT GOING TO SAVE US from their takeover…planning, scheming the stop, etc…working together to save democracy!! It’s EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR RESPONSIBILITIES!!
