Trump's Accountant Bails, Says Financial Statements Can't Be Trusted
The accounting firm that has represented Donald Trump for a decade is now saying nobody can trust the financial records the Trump Organization is putting out. The firm, Mazars USA, has abandoned Trump and announced it will not longer be representing Trump’s business. Mazars’ general counsel William J. Kelly wrote a letter to the Trump Organization that read, “we write to advise that the Statements of Financial Condition for Donald J. Trump for the years ending June 30, 2011 — June 30, 2020, should no longer be relied upon and you should inform any recipients thereof who are currently relying upon one or more of those documents that those documents should not be relied upon.” This is a clever way for the accounting firm to recognize shady business practices being done by its client and to try to no longer have anything to do with it. This move bolsters the theory that Trump and his workers inflated the price of assets when trying to portray credit worthiness and deflated the price of assets when it was time to pay taxes.
MyPillow Mike Lindell: 2020 Election About to be "Decertified"
MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell won’t give up on his claims that Donald Trump will be reinstated as president. Lindell went on Steve Bannon’s show yesterday and argued that multiple states will soon be decertifying the 2020 election results which will open the door to the overall presidential race being overturned. Mike talked about how he’s been talking to lawmakers and officials in states like Arizona and Wisconsin and they’re ready to decertify. He said, “we’ve had lawyers, constitutional lawyers look at this. Three of these states you decertify and then it goes back to all the states and it votes one state one vote and it’s Republican controlled.” Lindell is wrong in that even if there was a willingness by a few states to decertify results well over a year after an election, the decertification wouldn’t do anything because Congress has already counted and accepted the votes. Also the new president has long since taken power. It remains unclear whether the MyPillow guy knows this and simply wants to grift off supporters who still believes his theories, or if he legitimately believes them to be true himself.

Tulsi Gabbard Delivers Possibly Dumbest Foreign Policy Take in History
Over the last week, tensions have been running high over concerns that Russia plans on invading Ukraine. Former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard went on Tucker Carlson’s show last week to discuss how to deescalate in the region and she delivered perhaps what was the worst take possible on the subject. Gabbard said, “the reality is that it is highly, highly unlikely that Ukraine will ever become a member of NATO anyway. So the question is why doesn’t President Biden and NATO leaders actually just say that and you can guarantee it?” Tucker appreciated what Tulsi said and nodded along vigorously. There are many people echoing this take — that western powers are goading Russia by being open to allowing Ukraine to join NATO. However, the best way to stop aggression in the region would simply be for the aggressors (Russia in this instance) to put an end to their aggression by removing troops from the border. As of this morning, Russia has announced the withdrawal of some of its troops so it appears at least for now that the situation is calming down.

Trump Adviser Confronted: Could VP Kamala Harris Decide 2024 Election?
MSNBC’s Ari Melber had former Trump adviser Peter Navarro on his show last week and turned the tables on him over the election fraud narrative. Navarro has been one of the key figures arguing the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump and that Mike Pence had the right to reject electors on January 6, 2021 from swing states they lost. Melber asked Navarro if Vice President Kamala Harris will have this very same right in January 2025 if Democrats lose the next presidential election. Navarro stumbled around and argued the vice president has the right to send electors they deem to be fraudulent back to the states. However, he failed to explain what would qualify as legitimate grounds to send back the votes and was uncomfortable with the thought experiment of replacing Mike Pence’s name with Kamala Harris’s. The goal for overturning the 2020 election was obviously shortsighted and only meant to benefit Trump in that one election. People like Peter Navarro clearly didn’t have any concern for the precedent such a move would make and how it could be used against Republicans in future elections.
