They said it was over something Kimmel said, but it’s clear to me that it’s about what Trump said and they’re mad at Kimmel for showing.

Like β€œI’m not mad at person X for doing Z. I’m mad at person Y for informing me person X did Z.” Completely misplaced who they directed their outrage towards because heaven forbid they criticize their dear leader…

These companies need to stop capitulating to Trump’s fascist government. The law firms that took him to court won. Branden Carr’s threats are empty in terms of yanking broadcast licensing. If the real threat is not approving a merger… then choose freedom of speech over the merger or face boycotts.

I support you every way I can, but I can't afford to pay even a dollar. Fixed income/social security/inflation. I'm not even sure I can afford food for the month. Our belts are already tight. But love and peace to you, David. Keep going.

So many are being robbed this way which is why they are broke.

There is not one single class action involving both Wells Fargo and Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS), but rather several class action lawsuits and settlements for each company, with some overlap in the mortgage servicing context. Wells Fargo has faced numerous class actions for various issues, including mortgage forbearance during the pandemic and general consumer abuses. SPS, meanwhile, is involved in class actions related to alleged improper fees and misrepresenting information to credit reporting agencies.

Wells Fargo Class Actions and Settlements

COVID-19 Mortgage Forbearance Litigation: A settlement was reached for a class action concerning Wells Fargo's alleged mishandling of mortgage forbearance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Consumer Abuses: Wells Fargo settled with the CFPB for $3.7 billion in 2022, which included issues with auto loans, mortgages, and deposit accounts, such as improper fees, wrongful repossessions, and account freezes.

Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities (RMBS): Wells Fargo has been involved in class actions as a trustee for RMBS trusts, with allegations that the bank breached duties by not removing bad loans from the trusts.

Select Portfolio Servicing (SPS) Class Actions

Improper "Pay-to-Pay" Fees: A class action in D.C. is ongoing where borrowers claim SPS illegally charged fees for making payments online or over the phone.

Misrepresentation of Data to Credit Bureaus: A class action lawsuit alleged that SPS provided false information to credit reporting agencies and made threats of foreclosure.

FDCPA Violations: In one case, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that monthly mortgage statements from SPS could be considered debt collection communications under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).

What to Do if You Believe You Are Affected

Check Mail for Settlement Notices: If you were part of a recent class action, you might receive a plain white envelope containing a settlement check.

Visit ClassAction.org or TopClassActions.com: These websites track class action lawsuits and settlements and often have information on eligibility and claims, according to ClassAction.org and Class Action Lawsuits.

Visit the Official Website for a Specific Settlement: For the Wells Fargo COVID-19 forbearance settlement, Wells Fargo COVID Forbearance Settlement Litigation is the official website.

Yeah. It’s called black mail in normal times. An unelected bureaucrat maga is blackmailing huge conglomerates who need approval from a government agency to buy up more media outlets, which in normal times (before the 80’s) was not allowed for this and other reasons. Monopolies were considered a problem both for fair business practices and for regulatory agencies, who can become corrupt. There was a limit to what companies could buy. No more. So, here we are.

~ FYI ~ Here's some news that I just saw . . . . .

"The Republican official who appears to have played a role in the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night comedy show * once railed against censorship against β€œlate-night comedians” and suggested that Donald Trump was responsible for β€œpolitical violence.” *

"After that Republican, Federal Communications Chair Brendan Carr, threatened to take action against the network over comments Kimmel made earlier this week about the assassination of Charlie Kirk, ABC pulled the late-night comedian off the air β€œindefinitely” on Wednesday.

Not long after Carr’s comments, Nexstar – an owner of ABC affiliate stations nationwide that is currently seeking FCC approval for a $6.2 billion acquisition – said that it would preempt Kimmel’s show β€œfor the foreseeable future." And not long after that, ABC announced the late-night host had been pulled off the air.

Carr’s apparent unprecedented role in getting the comedian taken off-air is a dangerous escalation in the administration’s already-rampant assault on speech. It is especially jarring when you look at the long list of times just in the past five years that he’s revered free speech, specifically comedy and satire. Take a look:"
