I live here. I can assure you that this area of Butler County is very very red.
Dukes' win was definitely a lot more than I expected.
You may remember that this is the county where the alleged assassination attempt of Trump occurred on July 13, 2024.
What I keep missing from the discussions about the Iran War is the fact that hundreds and hundreds, if not thousands, of Iranians have been killed in this war of choice, and we could add the people killed in Lebanon because Israel took our lead (which was planned) and then bombed over there, and possibly other places in the Middle East (I don't have the exact figures here). That's more important, even, than the tragic loss of our soldiers, because those people who died hadn't enlisted to serve in any war, they were innocent civilians trying to live out their own lives. It's true that our soldiers had been taken by surprise and had been killed in our bases without any warning; they weren't fighting, either. But the civilians in the other countries are completely innocent and we should want to know their names and know exactly what happened to them. We could begin with the school that was bombed by mistake, killing 168 people, mostly little girls. This should be very, very important to us, and I'm just not hearing podcasters talking about them first and foremost. Just because they're not American, we can't take them for granted at all, ever, forevermore. It was the same way with all the other wars of choice we've fought, all since WWII.
It breaks my heart that the Iranian people already live under a dictatorship and they are innocent victims ,just like the Palestinians and Ukrainians and most of the citizens of our country captured by a regime spending down our tax dollars on his frivolous parties , fixing up the White House he has stolen and making into a private palace for himself , stealing the Washington golf course where he deposited the contents of the east wing so the people of Washington who use that course can’t use it until he has time to claim it and spend our tax dollars to make it spectacular for him and his friends and make his private property by theft, and the Kennedy center and fixing it up for himself to entertain himself and his donors eventually, taking the millions in funds and spending to make it over for himself in his gaudy Russian Kremlin style that he’s turning the Whitehouse into. I hope those marble arm rest bruise the hell out their wealthy elbows . Marble arm rests that he will then be replacing and throwing on some other public property. He’s made the country his and tells us we can do without .Our hospital has closed and the local churches and citizens are picking up the slack and our doctors have left and we have to travel 50 miles to the coast where our doctors have gone because it’s where the money is.Its a whole day gone and extra gas which is a real hardship for some. That doctor’s office served our homeless community for free , now they have nothing.
We can’t feed our poorest children at school when some kids don’t eat otherwise. He wants us to lose our healthcare and homes so the billionaires can steal them. 10,000 veterans have lost their homes since this regime have taken over and more homeless are filling the streets and begging at grocery stores for food. Our little real Christian churches that can hardly fix up their churches are feeding and helping the homeless and helping our fire departments to get another ambulance because our hospital has closed and we need to get people to the hospital the next town over , an extra 15 miles that might cost a life. You can die during that long journey and they don’t care. The mega churches white Christian nationalist continues you to drain their parishioners and promise them wealth but only they get wealthy as they rob them. And they help no one. It’s time to take back our country and get rid of these slaver billionaires who offer us jobs alright at 30 hours a week with no insurance and no pensions . This is why people need social security and Medicare. They leave us with nothing to live on when we retire and have the nerve to call it a Ponzi scheme , it’s our money we paid into it our whole lives and they stole 1.5 trillion from it to give tax cuts to billionaires. That’s the Ponzi scheme. And let’s talk about the republican senator in Florida whose business stole hundreds of millions from Medicare and got to keep it and his job, why don’t we.
