The only thing conservatives want to conserve is their power, and their wealth. They don't GAF about anything or anyone else.

Man, David’s charts got me feelin’ like I just caught the GOP sneakin’ outta my kitchen with my wallet in one hand and a damn soda pop in the other. They’ve been sellin’ this “fiscal conservatism” thing for decades talkin’ about “small government” like it’s some kind of holy vow but every time they get in office, the debt blows up faster than a Kardashian Instagram post.

Reagan cut taxes? Debt went boom. Bush cut taxes? Debt went boom. Trump cut taxes? Debt went BOOM. It’s like watchin’ the same bad sequel over and over except instead of bad acting, it’s bad economics. They swear the cuts will “pay for themselves,” like your broke cousin sayin’ his new rap career is gonna cover the rent.

And don’t even get me started on “small government.” Oh, they small when it’s your healthcare, your Social Security, your kid’s school lunch. But when it’s bombs, tanks, and billionaires gettin’ tax breaks? Suddenly the government big enough to park a battleship in your driveway.

Numbers don’t lie, man. The scoreboard says Democrats been more fiscally responsible, and it ain’t even close. So the next time somebody tries to hit you with that “fiscal conservative” nonsense, just point ‘em to these charts… and maybe lend ‘em a calculator. www.xplisset.com

I am SO happy that you've done this David!! I never had any question about how I feel about the subject. They have 'Never Proved To Me' that they are very conservative. But what they HAVE proved to me is that they ALWAYS LIE! So thank you for discussing this. : )

When the most selfish and greedy person in the room says that you'll all get some, think again.

Yeah, somehow that GOP MATH ain't MATHIN'! 😠

Wharton Business College didn't have a math class remedial enough for you-know-who to grasp the basics of math.

David:have you invited Paul Ryan or Grover Norquest on your show to discuss & defend Republican fiscal policies since the time of Regan & if they really do care about the debt why are they not calling for a return to the fiscal policies of Dwight D Eisenhower?

Who did indeed warn of the budget black hole of an industrial-military complex. The military budget is out of control and far more than is needed for national security. Hasn't Congress approved very expensive aircraft and weapons the Pentagon said they didn't want? And now there's ICE...

I'm sure with the new head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, all those numbers will start to look great again.

You have outlined the issues in a very well thought out outline. Thanks for your truth to power position.

All corporations have learned how to use government, for precision monetary extractions of us, the People. We the People are nothing but money mines being mined by the wealthy. The People, are being mined, by the wealthy.

Jeez...yeah what he said. Been sayin' this for 3 + decades. Tax cuts for billionaires and corporate behemoths and long ass foreign wars tend to jack up defecits. Repubs are masters of gaslighting...Oh and double standarding.

Fiscal Conservatism, opposition to Russia, Moral majority, Law and Order, The Constitution...

The only values I can see them supporting are: Hate of everyone not like them, Specifically hate of Immigrants and Democrats, Anti-Abortion - even at the cost of the woman's life, Ensuring the rich get richer, Obedience to their Leader.

They never claimed to compassion or empathy (except for W Bush, and he was an outlier). They never really cared about the deaths related to guns. They always blamed the poor, crippled and disadvantaged for their problems and refused to give 'helping hands'.

I would really like a conservative explain their priorities without making me laugh.

Republicans always lie and are never held accountable! Msm is also complicit in allowing them to spew lies with NO pushback!

I am so very happy you let me comment. I'll use myself as an example here. I am 77. I am retired and began to pay more attention to political news after Watergate. I slowly added MSNBC and CNN. I got hooked immediately on Rachel M and Lawrence O. Then I added other news - mostly public radio. Jump forward to the last 100 days...and now have HCR, The Contrarian, Joyce Vance's Newsletter, and you. All of this information has caused the # of links on my computer to be a minimum of 15 + a day. I've heard that people have stopped listening to the news, we are "exhausted", "don't care", "feel helpless." This is a frightening time. Lots of us are watching and listening. It is just overwhelming.

It's a matter of priorities. A ballroom in the White House is much higher on the MAGA list than Medicaid or SNAP food benefits. knowwhutimean?
