Trump lawyer Sidney Powell PLEADS GUILTY
Sidney Powell, the attorney known for filing multiple legal challenges to the 2020 election on behalf of Donald Trump, has pleaded guilty in the Georgia election interference case. Powell was charged with offenses including racketeering, conspiracy to commit election fraud, conspiracy to commit computer theft, trespass and invasion of privacy, and conspiracy to defraud the state. Her guilty plea marks a major turning point in her legal career and shows that she is facing some consequences for her actions. What makes this news particularly notable is that Donald Trump is also charged in the same indictment, raising questions about the potential implications for him. This situation serves as a reminder of Trump's indifference to those who were once in his favor but have outlived their usefulness. He has a history of distancing himself from individuals who no longer serve his interests. This guilty plea underscores the risks associated with aligning oneself with Donald Trump, as it can lead to personal and professional consequences when one's utility to him wanes.
LOL: Trump's criminal trial might be TELEVISED LIVE
Recent reports indicate that one of Donald Trump's criminal trials, specifically the one in Washington, D.C., may be televised. NBC Universal News Group has filed a motion to broadcast this trial, marking the first criminal trial of a U.S. president and emphasizing the strong public interest in witnessing it. The request was made to U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkin, seeking to televise audio and video, either live or with a delay, using the court's equipment. This development suggests the possibility of Trump's various trials, such as those related to the D.C. Federal Insurrection, the Georgia state trial, the federal documents case, and the New York civil case concerning fraud, also being televised. Televised Trump trials would undoubtedly draw a lot of attention, meaning Trump could finally deliver the high ratings he has been boasting about. These trials, if televised, would be dramatic, high-profile events, and would absolutely be matters of public interest ahead of the 2024 election.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump-endorsed Jim Jordan loses by EVEN MORE in second Speaker vote
The Republican Party's ongoing struggle to select a Speaker of the House has reached a critical point, with Jim Jordan, endorsed by former President Trump, facing successive losses in Speaker votes. Trump's endorsement appears to be losing influence, and as more than two weeks have passed without a Speaker being chosen, some Republicans are calling for a new candidate. Jim Jordan, despite his claims of continuing the fight, received only 199 votes, well short of the 217 required for the position. This highlights a sharp contrast with the Democratic Party, where Hakeem Jeffries has been chosen unanimously as the Speaker candidate, emphasizing the Democrats' unity. The Republican Party's disarray underscores a preference for divisive social issues and fear-mongering over governance, and it remains uncertain when, or if, a Speaker will be selected.
From yesterday’s show:
Biden actually functional as President, secures Palestinian aid, passage through Egypt
As Republicans continue to fight amongst themselves, President Joe Biden and Democrats are actually working to get things accomplished. The Republicans are grappling with internal discord, symbolized by former President Donald Trump's legal challenges, a notable lack of House leadership, and factional divisions. In contrast, President Biden's recent Middle East diplomacy was highly successful, securing $100 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank, and effectively pressuring Israel to allow aid to reach Gaza via Egypt. Additionally, Biden demonstrated adept political maneuvering by orchestrating a $100 billion aid package benefiting Israel, Ukraine, and addressing border security – an issue of utmost concern to Republicans. These achievements occurred within a remarkably short timeframe, underscoring President Biden's leadership effectiveness. This striking contrast emphasizes the need for voters to prioritize tangible accomplishments over divisive cultural debates and nonsensical grievances.
