Trump says cognitive glitches are on purpose in dementia rant
Failed former President Donald Trump went on Truth Social and attempted to make the case that any confusion he shows between Joe Biden and Barack Obama is intentional, dismissing suggestions of cognitive decline. Trump asserts that inserting Obama's name is a deliberate choice, suggesting he has external influence in the country's affairs. He defended his mental acuity by referencing recent cognitive tests during his physical exam. However, skepticism arises as there is no supporting evidence for Trump's claim of intentional misnaming. This attempt to rationalize the gaffes is clearly a response to growing public concerns about Trump's cognitive state, raising questions about his lack of self-awareness and underlying motivations.
Marjorie Taylor Greene's book fails because her followers don't read
Marjorie Taylor Greene's recent book, "MTG" is so far a complete failure with only eight mostly one-star reviews on Amazon. This reflects a broader trend within her supporter base — a disdain for education and pride in ignorance. Selling a book to a demographic that rejects academia and questions expertise is challenging and not one Greene has been able to pull off. The anti-intellectual sentiment within this group has been growing for decades, making book sales difficult. The prevailing sentiment within this group has been on the rise for decades, rendering book sales increasingly implausible. This lackluster reception suggests a need for alternative communication strategies to effectively engage Greene's audience, like right-wing podcasts and cable news appearances.
From yesterday’s show:
WOW: Trump's OWN LAWYER calls MAGA a cult
Jenna Ellis, a former Trump campaign lawyer and once a staunch defender of baseless election claims, has openly labeled the MAGA movement a cult after recently pleading guilty to criminal charges in Georgia. Distancing herself from Trump, Ellis sarcastically tweeted "definitely not a cult," expressing frustration with the unquestioning loyalty within MAGA that overlooks inappropriate behavior. Her criticism extends to former allies, condemning the defense of Roger Stone's offensive language and highlighting the absence of an objective moral metric among Trump supporters. Ellis deserves some credit for recognizing the cultish aspects of MAGA, but not too much since she likely knew the truth for years but chose career advancement over acknowledging it. Now marginalized and having gone through the criminal justice system, it’s possible Ellis now acknowledges the personal consequences she faces after turning against the movement she once fervently supported.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump polling EXPLODES, hits new record high
Despite a growing number of legal challenges, Donald Trump's popularity within the Republican Party appears to be on the rise, reaching a peak of 62% in the primary polls. The trend is noteworthy, especially as key figures like Mike Pence and Tim Scott exit the race. The lack of credible alternatives among other candidates, including Asa Hutchinson, Doug Burgum, and Chris Christie, also is contributing to Trump's sustained support. Early state polling further solidifies Trump's dominance in Iowa and New Hampshire, with Nikki Haley's potential overperformance in New Hampshire being a challenge to Trump. This is a clear indication that the Republican Party is sticking by Trump, despite facing 91 felony charges, reflecting a party unable to distance itself from the MAGA movement.
