Certain circumstances and events are set in motion and it will take a very unprecedented event to knock it off course.

The Constitution is not a secret document. It is freely accessible and readable. I will admit one of the more complex parts of it IS the 25th amendment, but it is not that hard, you just have to read ALL of it, all the way to the end of the amendment. THEN read up on Impeachment (just search on the word "impeachment").
I say this because everybody talking about the 25th amendment misses how unusable against Trump it would be without a 2/3 vote in BOTH the House AND the Senate, when an impeachment only requires a Majority in the House and you still need 2/3 vote in the Senate, and the entire process can be much quicker.
ALL it would take is for 20 Republican Senators to declare they are ready to remove Trump, and a discharge petition in the House, and Trump could be kicked out in less than a week, if that long.
Since you would need those SAME Republicans in either case, why not just do that?
The ONLY reason neither of the two prior impeachments 'took' was that Republican Senators declared it was 'too late' and it should be left to the people to vote him out, and then when they DID vote him out, and he staged an insurrection to stay, then then declared the second impeachment was 'too late' and he was out of office, refusing to admit that it would prevent Trump from ever seeking office again (WHICH HE DID).
If the Senate Republicans are finally ready to admit he was guilty and it IS time to remove him, I will be very pleasantly surprised, but I am not holding my breath this time.
I am waiting for 2027, which as Trump anticipates, will be his third impeachment trial when they can bring not only the prior charges (which the Senators at the time said were 'too late'), the obstruction charges from the Mueller report (statute of limitations does not apply to impeachments) but also ALL the HUNDREDS of crimes committed in his second term (so far), and since he rules this administration as a "Unitary Executive" includes all the crimes committed by his loyalists in his administration. NOTE that the 'immunity' that SCOTUS gave him does NOT apply to impeachment, and in fact is negated by a successful conviction in an impeachment trial.
So PLEASE stop with this '25th amendment' nonsense. It just ignores the reality and gives cover for the Republicans. Yes, considering the 25th includes effectively 'dementia' as a reasonable cause to remove a president, that can be included in the reasons for removing him through impeachment as well. The reality is, Impeachment is the mechanism where Congress can remove a president. Full stop. Nothing more or less. "Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors." was meant as a guideline.

If the Constitution had meant what they said it meant, it would have said "then" instead of "nevertheless" which was clearly intended to indicate that 'double jeopardy' would not apply since "Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States:" It really is not that hard to figure out this SCOTUS is NOT valid and all those who signed that decision (among others) should be removed.
