Trump Press Secy APOLOGIZES for Working for "Con Man" Trump
One of Donald Trump’s former press secretaries, Stephanie Grisham, is now on an apology tour for the role she played in perpetrating the lies of the Trump administration. Grisham went on “The View” and said, “I messed up. I am sorry. I will say that until the end of time. But I want to give people an offramp. And I’m going to do everything I can to educate people — not talk down to them — educate people about who [Trump] really is, that he is a conman, that it is a cult-like thing and that it’s okay to just get off.” As is the case with many of these turnarounds by former Trump officials, it becomes a guessing game as to whether they’re actually remorseful. For example, Michael Cohen seems genuine in his regret over serving Donald Trump whereas someone like Bill Barr says he’d still vote for Trump over a Democrat. With Stephanie Grisham it’s hard to tell 100%, but she appears to land more on the Cohen side of the spectrum than the Barr side.
Mitch McConnell Against Free School Lunch Extension
Mitch McConnell is opposing an extension to the free school lunch program. Congress is debating what to include in the next government spending bill and McConnell on behalf of the Senate Republicans wants to end this pandemic-era initiative. Thirty million children currently rely on the free lunches which will sunset in June without an extension. Right-wingers have been fearmongering about this program for a long time now. Fox News host Martha MacCallum made the case in October that, “those kids are all going to grow up thinking, well school lunch is free and then god help the person who tries to take that away.” The same argument can be said for trash pickup or emergency services or anything else that taxes pay for. Public dollars already fund everything else that goes on at these schools and the lunches are already subsidized. It makes perfect sense then to just go the whole way and say that students will get one meal a day and they won’t need to pay out of pocket for it.

OOPS: Trumpist Clerk Indicted for Election Tampering
Tina Peters, the Republican clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, has been indicted on multiple counts by a grand jury. The charges include attempting to influence a public servant, criminal impersonation, identity theft, first-degree official misconduct, violation of duty, among others. Peters embraced the “big lie” and allegedly executed a plot to leak confidential information from county election systems to the public. These are exactly the type of voter fraud-related crimes hardcore supporters of Donald Trump believe Democrats are guilty of. In the midst of everything going on, Peters is running for Secretary of State of Colorado. This means that despite all of the charges against her over alleged election crimes, Peters wants a promotion to be in charge of the election process for the entire state of Colorado.
From yesterday’s show:
Madison Cawthorn Charged for Driving without a License...AGAIN
Republican Congressman Madison Cawthorn has been charged with a misdemeanor for driving without a license for a second time. Cawthorn was pulled over on March 3rd in Cleveland County, North Carolina for allegedly crossing the centerline in his 2019 Toyota truck. Trooper Tyler Gantt said, “during the course of the investigation it was determined that the driver’s license was in a state of revocation and he was subsequently charged with driving while license revoked.” This is certainly not the first time Cawthorn has been on the wrong side of the law. Last year, the congressman tried boarding a plane with a firearm in his carryon luggage and claimed he didn’t know it was in there. The congressman was not charged over that incident. Republicans like Cawthorn claim to be all about “law and order” but for some reason they don’t believe it applies to them.
