YouTube NUKED My YouTube Channel...Now What?
The David Pakman Show YouTube channel is facing an existential crisis which is that views have plummeted over the last few weeks even though nothing about the program has changed. Some of our videos are getting only 2,000 views despite the channel having 1.6 million subscribers. Revenue has also declined by around 60-70%. This is not only happening to our YouTube channel, as other folks with similar political programs have experienced the same decline in views and revenue lately. There is likely something that has changed with YouTube’s algorithm, as it has been a long time since something like this happened before, and previously it was a result of policy changes at the company. At this point, there is no evidence to suggest that YouTube did anything malicious. Our viewers can help by searching “David Pakman” on YouTube, watching a few of our videos in a row, and of course, engaging in the content by liking, commenting, and subscribing.
Trump Visibly Confused, Complains Diamond's Funeral Is Too Long
Failed former President Donald Trump gave a eulogy at the funeral of Lynnette Hardaway, better known as “Diamond,” and managed to make it all about himself and his 2024 presidential campaign. Trump said, “they allowed their prisons to be emptied out into the United States of America. They allowed their mental institutions to be emptied out into the United States of America. Common sense would tell you that, if you had common sense, you wouldn't be doing that. . . . Millions and millions of people are coming and no country would be able to withstand this. No country, whether you're rich or poor. And we're not really rich, we owe, as of this morning, $31 trillion. Right?” It’s hard to imagine how such a speech could help the loved ones of Diamond grieve and mourn her loss. The vast majority of people would not have the temerity to talk so little about the person who has passed away and talk so much about themselves, but Donald Trump is narcissistic enough to be one of those people.
From over the weekend:
Republicans 2023: Museums and Books Are Bad
Thought leaders in the conservative movement in 2023 are boldly and proudly coming out against things like museums and reading books. Candace Owens said on one of her recent Daily Wire shows that she hates museums and that our tax dollars shouldn’t be funding them. She then wants all artifacts to be returned to their countries of origin. Of course, not everyone can afford to travel to other countries to see these precious artifacts, and maybe it’s a good idea to have a smattering of things with historical significance all around the world. Andrew Tate also recently made a similar point when it comes to banning books. He said that reading is for dumb people and that he’s “too smart” to read because it’s not entertaining and action-packed enough. These are just the latest examples of the anti-intellectual and pseudo-intellectual tendencies the right has exhibited for a while now.
From over the weekend:
Sarah Huckabee Sanders BANS Critical Race Theory. (It Isn't Taught in Schools)
Arkansas’ new Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has banned critical race theory in public schools, despite the fact that it’s currently not taught anywhere in the state’s K-12 schools. Sanders is defending the decision by saying it’s important to protect children from CRT because the federal Department of Education has issued guidance on the matter to every school district in the country. She went on Fox News Sunday to elaborate and said, “our teachers absolutely need to teach our history, but they shouldn't teach our kids and our students ideas to hate this country.” Of course, learning about critical race theory does not mean anyone has to hate the United States. What Sanders is doing is a classic example of reactionary authoritarian populism. She is inventing a problem where one doesn’t exist in order to claim that she’s the one standing in its way and solving the problem.
