Trump looking for a new lawyer HOURS before today's arrest
Former President Donald Trump has been desperately searching for a defense lawyer before his federal court appearance, where he faces a number of charges over alleged mishandling of classified documents and obstruction of justice. Despite interviewing prospective lawyers in Florida, several prominent attorneys have declined to represent him. Two key lawyers handling the document matter had recently resigned, leaving Trump scrambling to find a qualified attorney. Trump planned to be joined in court by an attorney from New York and a Florida litigator. However, disagreements over legal strategy complicated the search for a seasoned trial attorney. Trump has a history of difficulty hiring and retaining lawyers due to his total disregard for the rule of law and his tendency to not pay the people working for him. Normally it would be seen as an honor for an attorney to represent a former president, but when it comes to Trump, it’s more like a career liability.
MAGA melts down over Trump arrest today, LOSE THEIR MINDS
On the day of Donald Trump's second arrest and indictment, there is turmoil in MAGA world. Former Trump propagandist Steve Bannon is now turning on William Barr and Christopher Wray, who both served in the Trump administration, accusing them of treason. Another figure in MAGA land, Kari Lake, appears to be making veiled threats, stating that Trump supporters will stand between the Justice Department and Trump. A Trump supporter named Pat, interviewed by Freedom News TV, warned that if Trump gets indicted, the situation will be worse than January 6th. Hopefully, the court case is able to proceed without further unrest. There may be a situation where Trump supporters rioting on behalf of him end up facing more prison time than Trump himself, as happened with the Capitol insurrection. As the world watches these events, concerns are raised about the state of the country and the need to uphold equality under the law while avoiding division and violence.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump's OWN AG: If half of indictment is true, Trump's toast
William Barr, Attorney General under Donald Trump, made an astonishing statement on Fox News Sunday about his former boss. Barr stated that if even half of the new federal indictment against Trump is true, he is “toast.” Barr's argument countered the claims made by Trump's allies and legal team, who believe that the case should fall under the Presidential Records Act rather than the Espionage Act and other federal statutes. Barr explained that while it initially started under the Presidential Records Act, it became a criminal matter due to evidence of obstruction and other alleged wrongdoing by Trump. He also hinted that the prosecution had a rock-solid case, saying, “If even half of it is true, then he's toast. I mean, it's a pretty — it's a very detailed indictment and it's very, very damning.” William Barr was loyal to Trump when it came to the Russia investigation and the Mueller report, but then split with him following the 2020 election claims and the January 6th insurrection. Now he’s become one of Trump’s biggest critics when it comes to this mishandling of classified documents case.
From yesterday’s show:
Trump-appointed judge will oversee Trump's indictment
A Trump-appointed judge, Aileen Cannon, has been assigned to oversee the documents case involving Trump's indictment. This has raised concerns about potential bias and its impact on the prosecution of the former president. Judge Cannon previously showed favor to Trump and intervened in the investigation, only to be rebuked by an appeals court. An article by Mark Joseph Stern suggests that Judge Cannon's lack of discipline and willingness to support Trump could make it difficult for the prosecution to secure a conviction. He highlights her ability to impede the case through various courtroom strategies, such as manipulating jury selection, excluding damaging evidence, disqualifying favorable witnesses, and prematurely declaring a mistrial. However, there are checks and balances from other judges that the prosecution can utilize if necessary. It’s bad luck of the draw that Cannon was chosen, but hopefully, the prosecution will be skilled enough to work through it.

When Trump is convicted, you can be sure that not only will his followers riot but it will make the Jan. 6 insurrection look like a cub scout meeting. Important people will be assassinated (but unfortunately not the instigater himself). There is no limit to what they will do. They were prepared to kill both Pence and Nancy Pelosi. They would have done so if they hadn't been in hiding. Be very afraid.
