Trump admits to crimes in shocking post-arrest speech
Following his arrest over numerous felony counts related to alleged mishandling of classified documents, Donald Trump delivered a speech where he admitted to some of the crimes he is accused of and misstated the relevant law. Legal experts have confirmed that this speech can be used as evidence against him in court. Specifically, Trump said, “Many people have asked me why I had these boxes. Why did you want them? . . . I hadn't had a chance to go through all the boxes. It's a long, tedious job. Takes a long time.” This contradicts claims Trump has made about evidence being planted on him and his being fully aware of the contents he had in his possession. Later in the speech, Trump made conspiratorial claims and unfounded threats against the Bidens and launched personal attacks against the wife of special prosecutor Jack Smith. He made multiple references to Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden's actions as a defense for his own wrongdoing, even though that’s in no way how the law works. Overall, Trump made a major blunder by arguably admitting to crimes during his remarks and it really puts into question what the ex-president’s legal strategy will be.
We interviewed Trump supporters at his arrest, went HORRIBLY WRONG
TDPS correspondent Luke Beasley spoke to several Trump supporters who showed up to defend Donald Trump outside a Miami federal courthouse as he was getting processed and arraigned yesterday. The conspiracy theories voiced by these supporters shed light on the cult-like nature of their allegiance to Trump, even though the ideas varied tremendously from one person to the next. One person said that Trump is still the legitimate president, protected under a continuity of government. Another supporter claimed that Biden is a fake president and that multiple actors play his role. Beasley also interviewed individuals who spouted pandemic conspiracies, including one who believes COVID is a government-made virus created for depopulation purposes. Another person claimed that the FBI and CIA orchestrated the events of January 6th to frame Trump supporters as white supremacists. These interviews highlight the extent of misinformation and disinformation among many Trump supporters and their refusal to accept any evidence or logic that contradicts their beliefs.
From yesterday’s show:
WOW: Inflation drops to lowest in 2 years, Fox still angry
Inflation has reached its lowest point in two years, with consumer prices rising at a slower annual rate in May. The 0.1% monthly increase and 4% annual gain were mostly in line with economists' forecasts. While the current inflation level is higher than the Federal Reserve’s target range of 2%, it is still considered reasonable. It’s important to remember that a moderate level of inflation is actually beneficial for the economy as it encourages spending and investment. On the other hand, too much inflation can make goods unaffordable and lead to a recession, while deflation can discourage spending and cause economic decline. Predictably, the right-wing media have been trying to portray the economy as in shambles, but that’s getting more and more difficult to do. There are currently no economic indicators suggesting a weak economy, and while a recession could always be around the corner, we don’t appear to be close to one now.
From yesterday’s show:
Fox Host Hannity crushed ON HIS OWN SHOW by Gavin Newsom
During a recent Fox News interview, California Governor Gavin Newsom made easy work of Sean Hannity, dismantling his right-wing talking points about the Biden administration and the state of California. Newsom effectively addressed concerns related to President Biden's policies and California's performance, highlighting the state's robust economy, low unemployment rate, and its role as a leading hub for research and development. He challenged Hannity's assertions on topics such as inflation and border security, presenting evidence-based counterarguments that the Fox host had a tough time grappling with. Newsom's performance should serve as an example for how to make effective left-wing arguments. Even though Newsom is not the most progressive Democrat, he ranks near the top when it comes to political messaging.
